a girl can dream right?!

Kyle and I have been married for a little over 4 years now. We will be celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in June. We didn't have a big wedding, just us, our immediate family and a few very close friends (whom we don't speak to anymore, go figure lol). Since my brother-in-laws wedding last weekend it got me thinking about maybe having a vow renewal next year.

I don't think I would feel as much pressure because we are already married. I would love the chance to have a huge party with our families and friends. Of course since I started thinking about this I have been looking at everything from dresses to venues haha. I did get married in white (even though some people thought that was weird because I had been married before, whatever lol), so I was thinking maybe something in a soft pink like this:

or this:

As far as colors it would be very soft pastels...lavenders, peaches, creams, etc. Venues in Vegas are typically at casinos/hotels or local chapels. I have had my eye on this place for a long time:

Westin Lake Las Vegas

Gorgeous, right?!

Now of course I'm not even sure that this is going to happen, but a girl can dream right?! Give it a few months, I might say what the heck am I thinking haha.

If it doesn't I am still 100% happy with our wedding:

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

  1. I love the second dress!

The simplest weddings are the best... and those are usually the marriages that last as well! :)

  2. We had a teeny wedding too. We got married at a chapel on base. Both of our parents were there, as was my sister, and a handful of friends. It wasn't much, but it was still perfect.

  3. That would look amazing. Love the dresses you put up. I kinda want to do a five year renewal too. But we still have 2.5 years to go!

  4. My husband and I got sqeezed into the back of a storage room at our church since we could not afford a real wedding. I have no pictures, our families were absolute horros about it all (mine was controlling, his was rude), yet we are very happy together. Especially since we moved several states away from everyone...LOL!

If you do a vow renewal, I would do it on available cash and set a date where you won't have to do any of it on credit. Nothing is worse than being in debt for a long time over one day, no matter how awesome it is. :)

  5. I obviously think this is a great idea. Though, most every civilian you know will find it stupid. We only went to the courthouse in jeans and t-shirts alone, and I still got tons of backlash on our wedding. They just don't understand. It is so worth it though, and lots of fun!

  7. I say go for it!! We are already married, but our "wedding" is in May 2013. I like the fact that we aren't actually getting married that day because it takes the stress and anxiety away. Its only about having fun! Can't wait to hear what you decide!

  9. I love your idea of renewing your vows and having a huge party with family and friends. Even though getting married is awesome, I found that getting all the people I love together in one place was almost even better.

I also love your dress choices. And who cares what colour you wear/wore? It's all about the getting married and starting life together as a married couple.

  10. Yes! I think weddings are excellent excuses to get all the people you love together in one place because you don't get many chances to do that. Renewing vows is just as legit.

    Those dresses are also gorgeous.

  11. I think why not?! You guys should totally have another ceremony! We had a similar wedding 5 years ago and are thinking of having a renewal for our 10th anniversary (maybe!) At our wedding there was 4 people (my dad and three of our friends), it took maybe 15 mins, and we went back to our place for dinner. It was perfect for us but we've always planned one year to have a big fancy wedding. It'll be more of a celebration with everyone who's been with us through the years!

I love the first dress you choice! I like the idea of having it in a soft color like pink!

  12. Those dresses are beautiful! I hope that if you really want a vow renewal that it happens, and if not it's always fun to look at wedding ideas!

  14. I love the first dress. I almost went with a soft pink dress for my wedding just because I thought it was so beautiful. It's never too late to have a celebration of your marriage. Whether you renew your vows or just have a big party, I'm sure it will be a blast.

P.S. Every bride deserves to wear white. Whether you're a virgin or Liz Taylor. :)

  18. This is so great! My husband and I got married in Vegas too! We had two weeks to plan it! Lol. I've been dreaming of a Vow Renewal since then! Haha. I hope your dreams come true love!

  19. I love both of those dresses!
We had our wedding already planned (and paid for) before we decided to get married early. Had it not already been planned, we might've just not gone to the effort.
    I understand how you feel!
