Home Sweet Home

I am finally back home in good ole' NC! As hard as it was to leave my Mom and Dad, I am happy to be back. I had such a great visit with them, it was amazing to see who is treating her and where she has been going for the last 10 months. She has such a great spirit and is such an inspiration to me.

I got in at 3:30 and headed straight to the vet to pick up my babies, they were soo happy to see me and I them. I knew once I got home it was time to get some stuff done. I was able to get my car inspected and the registration renewed, grocery shopping done (even saved $23 with coupons!!!), and start laundry. It felt great to be so productive. Now the countdown is on for my hubby to come home. Last I heard it should be Friday night, woohoo!!

This morning I had a doctors appt to see how things were looking for a possible IUI this month. Thankfully, everything looks great and I will do my trigger shot tonight. But, instead of IUI we will just be doing timed intercourse (since Kyle won't get home until Friday night). I was happy that I didn't have to do any injectibles this all worked out with just taking clomid for 5 days. We are keeping our fingers crossed! We have atleast 2 more tries with IUI after this so it will all work out when it's right.

Well, I'm off to finish laundry and finish cleaning up. I hope everyone is having a great day!!

quick update

Hello from sunny Phoenix Arizona! I am enjoying my time with my mom and dad. The Cancer Treatment Center of America is absolutely amazing! Everyone is so nice and welcoming, I feel so much better knowing who is taking care of her. I was able to see her get setup for radiation and what an awesome experience!! I am here until Tuesday so I have lots of time left. Here are a few pictures:

Amazing Place!!

keeping busy

It has been about 2 weeks since my hubby left and thankfully I have been keeping myself busy. Between get togethers with friends and conquering spring cleaning the days are flying by (thank goodness).

In about a week I will be getting on a plane and flying to Phoenix to see my Mom and Dad. My Mom started her radiation today for the cancer in her brain and she will continue to have it for 9 more days. I will finally be able to see where she is being treated and meet all of the wonderful people who have taken amazing care of her. I will spend 6 wonderful days with her and I can't wait!! My Dad sent me and my sister this picture of her (in her new wig):

Gorgeous!!!

Not long after I get back, Kyle will be home!! We have also decided to postpone the party for his birthday (we both have so much going on) and we decided we can do it at a later time. He has some time off at the end of April and we are planning to go here for a day with some friends of ours:

Woo Hoo!!!

Then for 3 or 4 days we will be heading off to Myrtle Beach. We love going there to relax and have a good time. We both are needing it and looking forward to some down time together. We stay in the same hotel everytime and this will be our view:

Oh, I can't wait!!

I will try to blog before I head off to Phoenix, but not sure how much available time I will have. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!!

Going Away

The last day or so have been rough since Kyle left. With the lack of communication with him and all that is going on with my mom it hasn't been easy.

We got the results from our first attempt at IUI and unfortunately it was unsuccessful. We still have hope that we will eventually have a family, whether that means biologically or through adoption.

Good news is I get to go see my family next week. Instead of going to Vegas I will be in Phoenix at the treatment center with my mom. Thank you all for the continued prayers and support, it is much appreciated.

UPDATE

We got some more news today regarding my mom. The doctors found in her CT scan that the cancer has spread to her brain. They are hopeful that it can be treated, we will know more for sure tomorrow. I just talked to her and she is so incredibly strong, I don't know how she does it. I love you more than words, Mom!!!

today is not my day

I can honestly say that today has been one of the most frustrating and depressing days I have had in a while. Here is why:

#1: Kyle left for JRTC at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. Now normally his training schedule doesn't bother but this is almost a month long and the precursor to deployment. Boo!!

I will miss this face!

#2: My Mom got some not so great news at CTCA today. Her doctor doesn't like how things are looking as far as her cancer. Normally she would have gotten chemo today and already been on her way home, but no, they are admitting her to the hospital. She has had a very bad cough lately and they are afraid something is really wrong. She will have a series of new tests done over the next few days and we all are a nervous wreck. She is so scared and all I could do was tell her it would all be ok. Any prayers you can give are so very appreciated during this extremely trying time.

I am ready to curl up and go to sleep...too many tears already shed today.

Lots of Planning!

I can't believe that it is already March 4th! I feel like this year is flying by. March will be a busy month for me, I get to do my favorite thing, plan a party!! With Kyle leaving for JRTC on Monday I will have plenty of time to plan his birthday bash. I am planning this party for April 9th so I have plenty of time to get it done. Kyle will most likely already be deployed before his birthday and I want to make sure that we have time to celebrate it. We are having around 50-60 people at our house to celebrate, I am excited because it will be a Fiesta theme (since Kyle's birthday is actually on Cinco De Mayo, I thought it was fitting)

I am so excited to have this party for him, he so deserves it, especially for all he has done for me and our family. I am having his cake professionally made but I am also going to be making these myself:

Yes they are cupcakes!!! I am ordering the sleeves this weekend so I can work on the cupcakes before the party. I have looked into having the food catered because for that many people it would just be a lot easier.

I can't wait to get all the details ironed out and have a great party for my love!
