Day 5

Today I am finally on my last day of taking clomid for this cycle. Let me tell you the side effects this go around have been way worse than the first time.

I am constantly tired, irritable, emotional, hungry and of course when you add in body aches and headaches it makes for a wonderful combination haha.

Kyle as usual has been so sweet and understanding, he knows that none of this is something that I can control. He is truly a saint for dealing with me while we are going through all of this.

We are doing 3 cycles of clomid and fingers crossed that one cycle works! :)

In the meantime I will leave you with these:

Haha they are so true!

Hope you all have a great weekend.

The Weekend Is Here!

Am I the only one who thinks that this week flew by? The days just keep going by faster and faster.

I was so excited yesterday when I checked my email and was finally emailed our photo from the meet and greet with Kip Moore.

It was such a cool experience and I'm glad we have this to commemorate such a fun night.

I decided I would go to the movies by myself this afternoon. I have no issues going alone and I highly doubt it will be busy. I'm seeing this:

 Eeeekkkkk excited!!!!

Tomorrow we finally get to see:

I am ridiculously excited! My Mom and I would listen to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons all the time. It's going to bring back amazing memories for me.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

A Little Sunshine Never Hurt Anyone

Last week the awesome, Kelsey from Pardon My French tagged me with this sweet award.

1. What is your favorite fast food place?

I actually have 2. In N Out and Del Taco! I could live off these place but unfortunately El Paso has neither. Boo!

2. What is your dream vacation spot?

I have been dying to go back to Maui since I went in 2005. However, the Army and a few other snafus keep getting in our way.

3. What is your favorite household chore?

I really enjoying cleaning bathrooms, it's so weird.

4. What is one skill you wish you had?

I wish I knew a foreign language. I took two years of Spanish and nothing stuck.

5. Are you a fruit or veggie person?

I'm more of a veggie person, give me carrots and celery and I'll be happy.

6. What is your favorite beauty product?

I love my neutragena lip gloss. It does not make my lips feeling sticky and it has sunblock in it.

7. How long is too long to not wash your hair?

I can go 3-4 days, it really doesn't bother me to not wash it.

8. Would you ever want to re-new your vows?

We have talked about renewing our vows for our 10 year anniversary. I'm not really sure I want to go through all the hassle.

9. How tall are you?

Some days 5'4 and some days 5'3 lol

10. What is the best piece of advice anyone ever gave you?

My Mom always told us to just worry about ourselves. I find myself saying this all the time.

11. You just won a million dollars, what do you do first?

I would probably give some money to family.

The rules say that you should tag others and add new questions. However I am going to leave this open to anyone who wants to answer these same questions (because I think they are good ones!).

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

My Ears Are Still Ringing

Kyle and I had such a great long weekend together!!!

Friday afternoon was spent working on school work and then that evening we headed off to post to see Rodney Atkins. The show was almost canceled because of lightening but thankfully it went off without a hitch. It was an AMAZING show!

Saturday we spent the afternoon shopping and enjoying the beautiful weather. That night we headed off to the KLAQ Balloonfest to see Sevendust. Wow! They played an all acoustic set and it blew me away. If you ever get a chance to see them do it!

Sunday was the concert we both had been waiting for. The Pretty Reckless took the stage first (for those that don't know the lead singer is Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl, she played Jenny.) They were really good but we went to see Five Finger Death Punch. They were OUTSTANDING!!!! Ivan Moody is a stellar front man and they could have played all night and we would have stayed.

Monday was more low key, we got some yard work done and I finished a few midterms.

I hope you all had an amazing long weekend!

Memorial Day

Today we remember and honor those that laid down their lives while defending this great country. Remember them and their families today as you spend it with your family and friends.

Hello Friday!

Oh Friday I am so happy to see you!!!

Yesterday was a very long but fun day. I woke up bright and early to pick up Kyle's new mini fridge. He needed a new one for his man cave and I found a sweet deal at Target. He is a happy guy again lol.

Afterwards I spent my Thursday how I have been for the last few weeks. Sitting in the BN area selling prints that were made to commemorate our brigades closing. Good thing they out SGT Bilko on lol. Helped make the 4 hours fly by.

When Kyle got home we headed out to Mescalero New Mexico to see Kip Moore at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. Look how gorgeous their view is?!?

We walked around for a bit and then headed to find our seats. We were greeted by a lady who worked there and she handed us meet and greet passes!!! We went backstage and met Kip. He was so nice!!! Can't wait to get our pictures back. The show was amazing and we got moved up significantly closer so we definitely can't complain! After a 2 hour drive home we got in at about 12:30.

We get to see Rodney Atkins for free on post tonight it should be a blast.

Happy Friday everyone. Enjoy your weekend!

Push-Ups or Pancakes

Yesterday, I had the privilege of volunteering at probably one of the coolest events I have ever seen. Every year Smucker's holds a contest and awards one military base with a free breakfast event for active duty military, retirees and family members called Push Ups or Pancakes (it took place during PT hours hence the name). This year the Fort Bliss Commissary was lucky enough to win the contest.

Last year Fort Sam Houston successfully fed over 12,000 people and we knew that we wanted to beat that goal. Well we did and then some! We fed over 19,000 military members and their families. Smucker's provided everything from pancakes, muffins, sausage, biscuits, water, coffee, juice and other items. Other companies were generous enough to donate a slew of free stuff for everyone to take. There were items such as kcups, spatulas, peanut butter, jelly, cakes mixes, golf tees, shirts, mugs and a bunch of other items.

This was my view at 6am, I was assigned to the iced and hot coffee tent (well one of 4 coffee tents). We had a blast, we joked and laughed the entire time.

We even got pictures with the Uncrustable guy and Cuppy from Dunkin Donuts.

After the event was over volunteers were allowed to get anything we wanted. I walked out of there with 7 cases of kcups, juice, sparkling water, jelly, peanut butter, pencils, shirts, golf tees, coffee mugs, etc. The generosity of these companies was absolutely outstanding. I am sending 2 cases of coffee to my sister and the rest is going to the soldiers at Kyle's company.

I hope that anyone affiliated with the military gets to experience an event like this. It was an honor to volunteer and say thank you to all those that give so selflessly.

Thank you Smucker's for supporting the military community the way you do.

Oh Wednesday

Today I am finally pampering myself! I am meeting up with a sweet friend this afternoon (also doubles as a meeting, yup I'm multitasking lol) for manicures and pedicures. It is long overdue and will be much needed after being on my feet for the entire morning.

I am volunteering at an event that our Commissary won through Smucker's for 4 hours this morning. Basically, Smucker's is providing breakfast for the entire post, EVERYTHING is being provided. It is going to be a mad house but such an awesome experience. Plus I get to see that cute husband of mine since most of his soldiers will be there having breakfast.

I hope you all have an awesome Wednesday!

Let's Do It Again

Well...I said that I would never do it twice but I have decided to run the El Paso Marathon again! I want to run it one last time before we PCS.

I will be going it solo for this one but that isn't going to stop me.

Let the training commence!!!

Happy Tuesday. :)

Another One Gone

Does anyone feel like this weekend went by a little too fast? The days have just been flying by lately.

Friday started out on a bittersweet occasion, our brigade cased the colors of one of our BN's who is sending half of their soldiers forward to finish out a deployment. We also found out that Kyle's BN will case their colors for good in July. :( Although we are excited for a new adventure we are sad to say goodbye to everyone.

The night got better though and Kyle agreed to watch Frozen with me. He LOVED it, yup that man is a keeper.

Saturday afternoon was spent running errands and playing a new kinect sports game we got. Emma wanted to wait with Daddy while the game installed haha.

Saturday night we headed off to another El Paso Chihuahuas baseball game. It was a blast! They played the minor league team from Vegas (and no I did not cheer for them lol). After the game was an amazing fireworks display in honor of Armed Forces Day. We also celebrated what would have been my Mom's 58th birthday with some yummy cupcakes. :)

Sunday was spent doing the usual grocery shopping, cleaning and laundry.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

My Favorite Things

I love recapping all my favorites things, always makes me smile.

Wonderland Tea from Disneyland! My sister bought it for me while we were there and I'm obsessed. Good thing I can buy it online. I also love my new mug. :)

This game is ADDICTING!!! I have only been playing for 3 weeks and I'm already on level 103 haha.

I finally found a snack that I love and only has 80 calories. These fruit strips are awesome.

I love that one of my meetings this week was at Starbucks, made me one happy lady for sure.

My Family Crest! My Aunt finally sent it to me and I can't wait to get mine and Kyle's framed together.

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Me Time

Do you ever feel like there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done and still take care of yourself?

I have felt like this lately. Between school, FRG, keeping up with housework and other volunteer commitments I realized that I have not taken care of myself. I promised myself a few months ago that I would try to take one day a week for me, yeah that hasn't happened.

It doesn't need to be anything extravagant, even 10 minutes sitting outside with some tea would be good enough for me, heck a run has been hard to come by these last few weeks. Even when I was on vacation, I was still doing school work and taking care of things from a distance. However, an awesome friend of mine convinced me to have a spa/lunch day next week and I can't wait. It will be nice to just relax and not think about anything else.

Bath and Body Works had a great sale yesterday so I stocked up on Aromatherapy bath products so maybe this will help my relaxation as well.

It is so important to take care of yourself and recharge when necessary.

I thought this was fitting lol.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Some Things

I swear I feel like May is flying by! The good thing is it has been jammed pack and will stay that way until the end of the month.

*The last half of the month is full of concerts: Kip Moore, Rodney Adkins, Sevendust, The Pretty Reckless and Five Finger Death Punch and I finally get to see Jersey Boys (YES! Oh how I love musicals)

*Just when I thought FRG stuff was slowing down it picked right back up...being the BN Advisor is stressful but worth it. Every day for the next 2 weeks I have at least one meeting that is unit/frg related.

*Since I have plans to do another marathon I finally invested in a camelbak and new running sunglasses. I had a $40 amazon gift card that I got for doing challenge with my sisters work so it was nice to not come out of pocket much. Next on my list is a new pair of running shoes, mine are ready to be retired.

*Thanks to coinstar for now offering gift cards, I changed in our coins and got a $50 gift card to Starbucks and a $50 gift card to Gamestop for Kyle. I will happily enjoy my $2 tea from Starbucks lol.

*I started talking to our real estate agent yesterday about listing our house at the end of the year. Reality is setting in that we will be selling our first home, it's bittersweet for sure.

Hope you all have a Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend was a pretty good one, despite some sadness yesterday it was good!

You know a weekend is going to start out good when Office Space is on. :) After I finally pulled myself out of bed I headed off to a Change of Command at Kyle's work. Soon I will be attending Kyle's and it makes me sad. Well, it's more of a casing ceremony since there will be no incoming commander.

As with any weekend these days it involved school, not a horrible way to spend a Saturday morning. Got a few assignments done ahead of their due date so that makes me happy. We finally finished celebrating Kyle's birthday by having an early dinner at a local place called "The Hoppy Monk", they have over 200 types of beer and Kyle was a happy guy.

Sunday was more of a relaxed day. We dropped Emma off at the groomers because every pup deserves a spa day. :) She clearly was not amused by the bandana. While she was getting pampered we did some shopping and had lunch at Jason's Deli.

I even accompanied Kyle on his ruck march. He is doing awesome with his Ranger school training and actually said that since I walk so fast it helped him. Looks like I'm stuck going on ruck marches with him every evening lol.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Mother's Day Thoughts

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post anything today but I knew that I needed to. Mother's Day is not an easy day for me because of a few reasons. I want to honor the two women that have shaped me into who I am today and who I hope to emulate one day as a Mom.

To the woman that carried me, loved me despite my faults, supported my crazy decisions and was the MOST remarkable woman I have ever known. To my Mom, Kathy. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss you and desperately wish that you were still here. You were the pillar of strength and love, you always sacrificed for your family without question or hesitation. You are now our guardian Angel who watches over us. I love you with all my heart and I will never forget you.

To my sister, Lisa. You are the matriarch of our family now and you have taken on that role so selflessly. You are there for me through everything and I could not imagine my life without you. You are a tremendous mother and I see so much of Mom in you. Thank you for all that you do and I love you more than you know.

To all those that are celebrating today, I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day.

However, my sweet husband and family have said to me many times today that I am a momma. A mother to 6 sweet angel babies and to these two:

To those who are struggling I leave you with this:

Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Over the last 6 years I have been blessed with some amazing friendships. The ladies (and guys) that have come into my life have become some of my dearest friends. When I first came into this life I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to make friends. I finally found my way and have met some incredible people. I am so proud to be a military spouse, I am proud to stand by my husband as he moves along in his career.

Each and every one of them have impacted my life and I am so thankful for them.

Today we say thank you to all those amazing military spouses who sacrifice so much and have kept the home fires burning even when times get tough.

Thank you to all my fellow milspouse bloggers, you all are amazing and thank you for what you do, you have all impacted my life.

Happy Friday!

Getting There

On Monday I started 5 more classes and I am slowly chipping away at getting my Bachelors in Psychology!

I have sat down and really looked at my class load and have committed to taking classes until I am done without a break. By the end of this year I will have 25 classes complete and am on track to graduate at the end of the next year. You have no idea how happy that makes me! I may eventually decide to get my Masters but only time will tell.

Once we find out where we will be moving too, I will start looking at looking for jobs directly related to my field, working with children is my goal, specifically military kids.

For now it is full steam ahead with no signs of slowing down. With Kyle leaving for a few months in the fall it will most definitely keep me busy.

This is definitely how I'm feeling haha.

Hope you all have a great day!
