Tomorrow is my FRIDAY!!

I am sooo excited that tomorrow is my Friday!!! My office is closed in observance of Good Friday (since the courthouse is closed, so are we, woo hoo). I am also excited because that means we are that much closer to heading off to the beach. This week has been crazy at work and it is definitely needed! I plan on posting lots of pictures when we get back! The weather is supposed to be perfect, and I can't wait to enjoy the sunshine and time away with the hubby.

On to other exciting news, Tuesday, HRC is releasing the 2010 Captains Promotion list, and if everything is how it should be, Kyle's name will be on it!! Which means he will get promoted sometime around June, his 3 year mark in the Army!! He is very anxious and excited! I will definitely post once I know!

I probably won't post anything the next few days, so I hope everyone has an awesome Easter weekend!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Friday!

After a crazy beginning to the week, I can honestly say that this week turned out awesome!!! I finally got into the swing of things at work, was able to balance everything I needed to get it and then some! Thankfully, we are starting to interview for a new receptionist and I can't wait until someone is hired permanently!

Besides work, things at home have been awesome! It is so great having Kyle home, getting back into a routine of everyday life with him. He has a 4-day weekend, so today he is golfing, he was VERY excited about the gift certificate I got him!

We finally have the ok for our block leave in July, so on Tuesday we will be booking our flight home to Vegas!! We are so excited to be able to spend time with both our families! My mom sent us a DVD of things going on with them over the last few months, and it really made me miss home, especially our 3 year old niece, Kylie.

We have one week left until our vacation to Myrtle Beach Easter weekend! We booked our room on Wednesday and this will be our view for 3 days:

We both need some time away and it will be awesome to just relax!

I hope everyone is awesome an awesome Friday!! I'm going to catch up on everyone's blogs tonight!!

Is today over yet?!

Today has definitely been a day I would like to forget...I went to bed at 10:30 last night and was just getting comfortable when what do I hear?! Music blaring next door!! Keep in mind that our house is connected to another home, so the master bedrooms are connected and the walls are paper thin. I was ok with the music until 1am rolled around and it was still on. Kyle decided it was time to go next door, as he proceeded to ring their doorbell, he realized there were no cars in the driveway!! REALLY?! Who leaves their house with music blaring!? He didn't have to work today but I did, so at about 3am I decided it was time to go sleep on the couch so I could get atleast a few hours of sleep. Needless to say my day started off pretty bumpy. He finally talked to the neighbors this afternoon and they said they would keep the music turned down, let's hope so.

I get to work and I am immediately SLAMMED with paperwork, files and payments! It was my first official day as Clark's legal assistant. We are without a receptionist for the time being, so I have to float back and forth from my office to the front desk, it's almost impossible to get things done. I was however able to sneak away for lunch and meet up with our old Batallion Commanders wife, definitely a welcome pick me up for what had already been a stressful day. Thankfully, I managed to not get interrupted for the rest of the day and I was able to successfully get done what I needed to.

Hopefully tomorrow will turn out to be a better day!

Back To Normal

I just wanted to take the chance to thank all of my blogger friends for the wonderful comments and support regarding Kyle's return home. You guys are awesome and it meant a lot!

All I can say is that it is so amazing to have Kyle back home. The 24 hours before he came home was very stressful as he had called me at 2am Thursday morning telling me that he wasn't coming home on the flight the next day, very upsetting for the both of us, of course with all things Army things change and 10 minutes later he called back and said he WAS coming home! Thank goodness! After 3 flights delays just on Thursday alone, I finally headed to Green Ramp at 6pm, at 7pm he was finally home!

I took Friday of work, since he has a 4 day weekend so we could spend a lot of time together, it has been great! We bought him a new wedding ring yesterday, I can't wait for it to come in. We went to a farewell dinner for a friend of Kyles that he went to college with, she is an army nurse and will be deploying to Iraq soon. It was great to hang out with everyone and say goodbye to Liz. We are enjoying a beautiful 80 degree day here in NC, so glad the warm weather is back. We are headed to the beach tomorrow for the day, hopefully the weather stays nice.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!

Anxiously Waiting....

So I know that my hubby will be home soon and for some reason I am having a lot of anxiety about it. I am anxious, excited, nervous and just overall ready for him to be back. I have a knot in my stomach that I know won’t go away until I see him. We have been married almost 2 years and I find it funny that I still get this way when he comes back after being away. We spent the first few months of our relationship as a long distance couple, I was always anxious to see him but I was never this nervous.

I spent the weekend getting everything ready for him to be back. I went grocery shopping, cleaned the house, and made sure that he would have everything he needed to adjust being back home. I decided that I would get him a gift yesterday to say “thank you” for everything he does for us and everyone else. I went and got him a gift certificate for a round of golf (the full 18 holes and the golf cart included). He loves to golf and he didn’t have a chance to play much before he left. I hope he enjoys it!

Hopefully the next time I post he will be home! Keeping my fingers crossed!

Tomboy at Heart

For the last 20 years of my life I have been involved with Drag Racing, thanks to my parents. My dad has been racing for as long as I can remember, it is something that we did as a family. I don't think a lot of people quite understood my love for racing especially as I got older. I would forego shopping trips with friends, going to dances, and being the typical girl just so I could be at the races, nothing could top the fun I had out there. I enjoyed getting dirty and greasy, and loved the smell of race fuel (crazy I know, but I still do)
Since I moved away from Vegas it really bums me out not being able to watch my Dad race, almost every weekend for the last 20 years was spent at the races. I made some great friends out there and was considered one of the guys, and loved every second of it. My Dad made sure that my sister and I could take care of ourselves when it came to vehicles. My Mom called me tonight and was so excited because my Dad just finished re-building the motor for the car and it was time to start it up, as soon as it fired up I got really excited! I usually try to take atleast one trip to Vegas when I know my Dad will be racing hopefully I can this year. Kyle and I have thrown around the idea of buying a classic car, so that I can start racing, I really hope it happens!

Here is a little glimpse into what my life has been like at the races:

That's me standing down there by the cars, I was always there watching and cheering my Dad on.

Towing my Dad back...

Me doing my job at the track..checking the air in the tires.

This is me...just a tomboy at heart!

Back to Bloggin'

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, have had a lot going on the last few days and really didn't have the time nor the energy to blog. I am back though and with some good news! I have a date for when my hubby will be home! I am so beyond excited and can't wait to have him back. They all have done such great things and I am so proud of them! We have so much to look forward to when he gets back...especially our 4 day getaway to the beach, Easter Weekend. He deserves time to just relax and recharge, it will be amazing! We have tickets to see both Nickelback in Greensboro and Carrie Underwood here in Fayetteville, we are glad that he will be back in time to go!

Thursday, the 18th, I officially start my job as Clark's legal assistant! As much as I love interacting with the clients while sitting at the front desk, I am excited to get my own office! I can finally put all my pictures up and make it my own space. I am looking forward to all the challenges and opportunities that come along with the job. It will be bittersweet for my to say good-bye to Jordan, as she and her husband, Eric leave for Colorado. We became good friends and the office won't be the same without her, lets hope whoever replaces me will be awesome!

Hopefully when Kyle gets back we can get our plane tickets booked to head back home to Vegas in July. Kyle hasn't been home in almost 2 years and I know he is really excited to get back and see both our families. We are happy we are getting leave this summer, since that may be our last chance to visit before we move to AZ sometime in 2011, but not looking forward to the dry heat haha.

I'm looking forward to this weekend, I plan on doing absolutely nothing! I love when I can do that.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Sick hubby...and weekend recap.

Kyle called me on Thursday which he usually does, he told me he wasn't feeling good (which for him is not common). A lot of guys had caught this nasty stomach bug, but Kyle had seemed to avoid it or so he thought. He ended up at the medic tent around 4pm Thursday and had IV's all night (he went through 6 IV bags of fluid), he also had a 102 temperature. He was really dehydrated, not good when you are stuck in a country that has 90 degree temperatures and 50% humidity. I got an email from him this morning and thankfully he is feeling much better and was able to rest yesterday. I am so relieved!!

I spent my weekend dress shopping with a friend of mine, she has a ball on Friday, so I was happy to go with her. I decided it would be fun to try on a few dresses too, I found an amazing one but of course we don't have a ball until May haha. We had such beautiful weather it was time to break out the sundresses and I was super excited! Today I decided it was time to really deep clean my house, which meant washing all the windows, dusting, mopping floors...for some reason I enjoy all this!

I hope everyone has had a awesome weekend!! Time for me to get ready to watch the Oscars!!

just another day at the office

Believe me when I say that there really is never a dull moment at my work, between the snobby real estate clients and our CRAZY criminal clients, I see it all!! When my co-worker Jordan leaves, I will have a lot more interaction with our clients (more or less listening to them whine and complain). Our criminal clients are the most unforgettable. Don't get me wrong I love my job, but it gets to the point where I just want to be like "Listen, you are the one who drove drunk, so own up to it and pay", but of course we can't and we continue to babysit them. Usually when I drive to work in the morning, I always wonder what kind of crazy person will I encounter today. I guess I should have known what I was getting into when on my first day a gentleman walked in to pay on his ticket and when I asked for his name, he responded by saying his name was "Dirty", huh!?!?!?! But again...stuff like this is just another day at the office for me!

A Day in this Army Wife's Life

Hello, Monday!

Happy March Everyone!! So, I normally dread Mondays, back to work after 2 wonderful days of sleeping in. Not today! I woke up in the best possible mood..not sure why...but I am loving it!! I had a great weekend which consisted of cleaning (yes, I love to clean haha), getting my hair done, and going shopping! I have been wanting to get my hair cut and colored for a long time, but never got around to it, finally Saturday I was able to go! I had a few inches cut off and had it colored dark with a lot of red highlights in it! Love it!! Over the last month or so I have actually lost about 10lbs (I'm sure some of it is because my hubby is gone), so I decided to treat myself to some new clothes. My hubby joked that he will have to step it up in the appearance department when he gets home to keep up with me haha.

A few weeks ago I discovered a new show that I absolutely love, it's called "Undercover Boss". I'm not sure how many of you have seen it, but I highly recommend it. Every week it follows a CEO from different major companies as they go undercover within the company. They get to see the day to day operations and see firsthand how decisions from Corporate affect their workers. So far they have done shows following Waste Management, Hooters, 7-11 and White Castle. Again, if you have not seen it, you should. It's on every Sunday at 9 (channel 3 here in NC).

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!!
