"Operation Clean-up"

Well, now that my wonderful hubby is deployed I figured now was as good a time as any to to an overhaul on the house. Yesterday, I started with my closet *cringe*, I have an insane amount of clothes, most of which are from high school. My friend Kristina came over and helped me organize. I think when I was done I had 9 bags of clothes that were either too small or just old. I also ended up with a bag of shoes and purses. I have more hangers than clothes in my closet now. I then went through Kyle's closet and organized it (didn't really have to get rid of anything), it looks so much better.

I realized just how much stuff we have that we don't use. Just this morning alone I have filled up 7 huge trash bags and I have boxes upstairs full of stuff that need to go to a dumpster. It feels nice to have gotten rid of stuff we don't need or use.

I will probably finish clearing stuff out tonight I usually work better later at night (really not sure why), I might even tackle the garage.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

I will leave you with this picture:

Another year to wait

Lately I haven't posted too much about our journey to start a family. There have been a lot of bumps in the road lately, and the timing is Kyle's deployment being the biggest one. We are now out of chances to have a baby until he gets back next year. On one hand I am frustrated and sad but on the other I think this may be good for us. I know that it will happen when the time is right and we really do believe that. We are hoping that time is next year. I think this time will be great for me to get back into shape and get really healthy. Nothing will stop us from having a family not even a little deployment lol.

Well, I will be MIA this weekend spending all the time I can with Kyle. We are having a couples massage done tonight and we soo can't wait!!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Happy Birthday, Mom

Today would have been my Moms 55th birthday. It is still so hard to believe that she is not here to celebrate with us. I hope she is up in Heaven having one heck of a party!!!! I love you, Mom! Happy Birthday.

I wanted to share a video that always makes me teary eyed. It hit so much closer to home when Mom got sick.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Pre-Deployment Pictures/All American Week

A few weeks ago I contacted my photographer/friend, Crystal, about taking pictures of me and Kyle before he leaves. Last weekend we had our session and we had so much fun!!! We did some pictures at a beautiful park downtown and then pictures at the Airborn/Special Operations Museum amongst all the flags they have placed out front. I should have the rest of the pictures today, but here are just a few she sent me:

I can't wait to get the rest and see how they turned out!

This morning at 6:30am All American Week was kicked off with the Division Run! There isn't a more amazing sight than watching 20,000 paratroopers running in formation. This was the first time since 2006 that all the brigades are here for All American Week. Here are some pictures I took:

 Wow!!!

Yeah! Black Falcons!!

My hubby! Maj. Williams was pointing at me asking if I had cake haha

Sorry this is such a picture heavy post.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!!

Ahh the weekend!

I am sooo happy that today is Friday. It definitely helps that Kyle has today off. It has been busy here around here, between the hail and farewell and the frg meeting I was wiped out from all this deployment talk. We have slowly been getting things in order and situated for finances and everything. I was happy to find out that BB&T (the wonderful company that has my car loan) is going to lower the interest rate on my car for the duration of his deployment. Now we just need to call USAA to get our other interest rates lowered. It is nice that programs like these are available for service members and families.

We don't have a whole lot planned this weekend mostly spending time together and seeing a few friends. We are not far away from him leaving so we are enjoying all the time we have.

I was also able to purchase all 3 of my plane tickets for trips I am taking this summer. I am really excited to be able to spend so much time with my family during this deployment.

Well not too much else to talk about right now so I'm going to go relax! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Mother's Day Blues

Well the day I have dreaded since my Mom passed is here. I knew it would be hard but I had no idea it would be this hard. I am having feelings of anger, jealousy and bitterness. I want her here and I need her here. Seeing the commercials for today has been nothing short of torture. As much as I try I can't seem to block it out.  While I am thankful that my Mom is no longer in pain, I am sad that she can't be here to celebrate this day. She was most amazing Mom! She wasn't overly affectionate but there was never a question of her love for us. She always listened and gave advice (even if you didn't want to hear it) and was always willing to help. I miss her more and more each day, I'm not sure if the pain will ever go away.

I love you, Mom! Happy Mother's Day, my beautiful guardian Angel.

Happy Birthday, Kyle!

Today is such a special day! Today is my amazing husband, Kyle's 26th birthday! I am so happy that he is still here to celebrate his birthday at home. He will be leaving soon and I wanted to go all out (as much as he will let me lol). I decided to decorate the dining room, even though it will be just me and him enjoying a quiet night at home.

I went to his work this morning to take him cake #1. He was red as a tomato when everyone decided to sing to him. It was really nice to see all the guys happy to celebrate his birthday with him (including the batallion commander LTC Bailey, who is in the picture as well)

You can't really tell but he is smiling from ear to ear.

I know that we won't be spending his birthday together next year and I wanted to make this day special for him.

I love you so much my amazing husband! I am blessed to have you in my life and I don't know what I would do without you!

Happy Birthday!!

This was his reaction to his decorations! Oh, I love this man!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, oh yeah, Happy Cinco De Mayo!!!

Springtime!

I absolutely love Springtime!! This weekend we were able to plant flowers and start treating our front lawn. We headed off to Home Depot this morning and found some beautiful flowers to plant as well as a few hanging plants. We then went to the PX and bought a wishing well fountain. When we were all finished this is the result:

Tonight, we headed off to the Dogwood Festival in downtown Fayetteville to see one of my favorite bands, Everclear. Needless to say they did not disappoint! They played all the popular songs and a few of my personal favorites. Here are a few pics:

We had a great time and would love to see them again.

Tomorrow we have plans to do nothing but be lazy around the house. Kyle goes back to work Monday after two weeks off so I know he just wants to be lazy.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!
