A Few Things

We have been having cooler temperatures here lately and it has been glorious for running! I finally got to test out my new shoe Road ID and I love it! For some reason it makes me feel safer when running (well that and the fact that I carry mace too lol). We have races every weekend for the next 4 weeks and I can't wait!

I recently (finally) received my brigade pin (it's on the far right) and it is so fun to look at my little collection of unit pins that I have acquired over the last few years.

With one of my birthday gift cards I ordered a new knife set. There is nothing that excites me more than new kitchen stuff! I was like a kid in a candy store when they arrived haha.

Can I just say how ridiculously excited I am that Sons of Anarchy comes back in September!? I'm bummed that it's the last season but I know it will be good.

Hope you all have a great Thursday!!

Oh Fishy

Sunday was our sweet Fishy's 7th birthday! I have had him since he was 4 1/2 weeks old and he has been such a great addition to our family.

He was extremely sick when I found him and we are so thankful that he pulled through and is ours.

He was clearly not amused by the hat I put on him haha.

We love you Fish face! :)

Happy Wednesday!

Quick Recap

We had such an awesome time with our niece and nephew last week! Here is a quick recap of our fun!

We went to the zoo and had lots of pool time at the house.

We played lots of hot wheels and my little ponies. We celebrated my 29th birthday with lunch at Jason's Deli.

We had fun taking selfies and playing with homemade playdough.

The kids had fun tackling their Uncle Kyle. We even took them on an adventure to the Old Ironsides Museum.

It was a wonderful week of fun! We didn't venture out to too many places but it was awesome to just spend the time together. Can't wait for next year. :)

Painting their birdhouses. :)

Back to Normal

I'm headed home today after taking our niece and nephew back home to Arizona. We had a great week with them and I can't wait to recap it tomorrow! It's time for us to get back into our routine and get ready for our move. In the meantime I will leave you with this cutie photo of them at the Old Ironsides Museum on Saturday.

Happy Monday everyone!

An Award

Well our time here with the Renegade Battalion and the Bulldog Brigade is slowly ticking away. Kyle received his RFO today and we should have actual orders soon.

It is amazing how fast time flies by. We won't be attending the hail and farewell tonight for various reasons and because of this Kyle's BN Commander gave him his plaque yesterday. This will be #3 and another piece of his Army career to add to the collection.

I am looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for us and with anything involving the Army it will certainly be an adventure! :)

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

It's My Birthday!

29 years ago a feisty little brunette was born! I have my Dad's looks and my Mom's personality. I am a great combination of those two great people.

I have already received some awesome gifts. A beautiful necklace from my sister and her family, bed bath and beyond gift card from my Dad, Target gift cards from my in-laws and a massage and manicure/pedicure gift card from Kyle.

Kyle is meeting me and the kids today for a birthday lunch at Jason's Deli, my request of course!

Here is hoping that 29 is the best year yet!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Birthday Fun!

On Friday morning Kyle and I headed up to Arizona to celebrate our nephew's 3rd birthday. We had such a great time spending time with family.

His party was at a local rec center and it was a blast. We swam for hours and just enjoyed each others company.

I am happy that we won't miss out on family time even after we move. My sister and her family will be moving to Florida to the exact same place that my brother and his family lives (only 7 hours from Polk). It will be great!!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

We are so excited to our niece and nephew here and I can't wait to post about our adventures.

Have a great week everyone!

Maybe One Day

Earlier this week I was really struggling with this whole infertility issue. I was frustrated because all around are ladies announcing pregnancies and having babies (don't get me wrong I am happy for them, do not misconstrue what I am saying). I am happy for them but sad for us. I am a week away from taking a pregnancy test for this round of clomid (have I said lately how sick I am of needles, pills and other procedures related to this). While I want to be excited the thought of taking it gives me anxiety. I wish starting a family was not so difficult for us, I see the ease in which others achieve this dream and I wish that for us. I am sad that we have had to say goodbye to five precious babies during our journey to be parents.

Yesterday I had someone tell me that if I just believed and prayed to God that I would get pregnant. Yeah I am pretty sure that is not how it works but okay. I am not knocking anyone's beliefs at all but please don't push them on me. This journey is hard enough without people tell me what I should be doing.

I do try to relax and let things happen but then I see another pregnancy announcement. *sigh*

Thanks for bearing with me during this post, I just needed to vent and know that even if some of you don't agree with what I say you still show support.

For now I will put this in the back of my head and enjoy some family time in AZ this weekend.

This and That

Here is a little run down of my life lately. :)

* We are having a realtor open at the house today from 11-1. Basically just a bunch of realtors will show up and walk through. Fingers crossed that one of them has a client that will like it. Oh man I just want to sell it haha.

*I am looking at plane tickets to head to Louisiana at the end of September, a little pricey but thankfully not too outrageous. Hopefully I can get it booked soon. I am also in the process of picking out moving announcements, oh how I love

*I ordered my ROAD ID tag a few days ago and I'm really excited to get it. For those that don't know what it is, it is a tag for my running shoes (or you can get a bracelet) with all my pertinent information on it in case something happens.

*Our niece and nephew will be here with us next week! I have a week of fun things planned and can't wait to spend time with them.

*I am obsessed with the new show on FX, Tyrant. It is so good and has exceeded my expectations. If you haven't watched it check it out.

Happy Thursday everyone! Have a great day.

New Do!

I love my new hair! I am really going to miss this salon when we move. I am really picky about who touches my hair.

The color and style is perfect and exactly what I was going for.

Well I'm off to clean up around here we are having a realtor open tomorrow! Woo!

Happy Wednesday!

Birthday Wishlist

I can't my 29th birthday is a week away....makes me feel really old haha.

I told our families to get me gift cards to either Bed Bath and Beyond or Target (my sister bucked the system and ordered me something, I was very intrigued when she mentioned that to me yesterday lol). Target is always the best bet for me.

These are some things I have my eyes on:

Cake leveler, I have such a hard time cutting cakes in half. I blame it on being left handed haha.

A double boiler, I do a lot of baking with melted chocolate and this would help so much.

Pasta maker attachment for the kitchenaid, I have wanted this for a long time!

Seasons 1-6 of The Big Bang Theory...I would probably watch this everyday.

I'm sure I'll come up with other things I need or want.

Kyle told me that he is getting me a massage gift certificate and one to get a manicure/pedicure. We have a hard time hiding gifts from each other. :)

Speaking of birthdays today is my sweet nephews 3rd birthday!! :-)

Have a great day everyone!

Weekend Snapshots

For the most part this weekend was pretty low key which is exactly how we like them!

Friday I finally went and got some new running shoes. My old ones were over a year old and were pretty worn out. I stuck with the same brand and I love them!!! I also picked up our bib belts, even saved $40 so I was happy.

Saturday afternoon was spent working on our race scrapbook and doing a little shopping. Thankful that Kyle doesn't mind running around all over town to just get out of the house.

Saturday night we ran the Run for a Margarita 5k, it was AWESOME! After the race we were treated to a complimentary margarita and free food. My new shoes and bib belt worked great.

Sunday was spent relaxing and watching the world cup. We had plans to go to that concert but decided to just lounge at home. I finally finished up birthday shopping for our nephew so now they are all wrapped and ready for our trip to AZ this weekend. :)

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!

A New Style

We are of course in the middle of summer...for me that means a very dry and HOT summer. I realized yesterday that it is time to cut and thin out my hair. I had ridiculous thick hair and if it gets too long it feels like I have 20 pounds of hair on my head. Not fun at all!

I made an appointment for Tuesday to get my hair cut and colored. I tend to try and go lighter for the summer. These looks are ideas of what I am going for.

I love the cut, just don't want my hair blonde like this.

If I had to choose one of the 3 to emulate it would be this one! The cut and color is perfect.

My hair is similar to this color right now and I love the cut.

I cannot wait to have something new! It's always fun to change up your look.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Throwback Thursday (Oh It's a Good One!)

I love Throwback Thursday it gives me a chance to find some pretty epic photos haha.

I'm going back...way back to middle school.

6th grade (1996). Check out my awesome shirt, it was my Dad's and I loved it!

7th Grade (1997). I am loving my ginormous Adidas jacket haha.

8th Grade (1998). Yeah I was voted Most Likely to Succeed lol...I think I am a little successful.

It is so fun to look back!

Have a great day!

Oh Hey Wednesday

This post is totally random but you know what that's okay every now and then. :)

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing my husband participate in a military ceremony. (He is 3rd from the left next to the blue guidon)  He is adorable! :)

Saturday I finally got Dairy Queen! I had been wanting it for days but we were always out way too late or too busy to go. Believe me this Oreo Brownie Earthquake was well worth the calories. Haha.

Sunday night we are going to this concert! Talk about another 90's flashback, we have seen Everclear and Eve 6 before so we know it will be a good concert.

I happily wore my 4th of July jamberry nails this weekend. I seriously love these, way better than nail polish for me.

I am buying this race bib belt on Friday. I am tired of pinning the bibs to my shirts and putting holes in them. Can't wait to test it out at our race Saturday night.

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday!!!

4 Months

As I was talking to Kyle's brigade commander (and soon to be boss at Polk) after his relinquishment of command ceremony, he made this comment to me, "See you in 4 months!" I am not joking you as soon as he said that a huge panic came over me. I am not sure how we are going to do it but we will haha. We have started a checklist of things to get done and so far it is helping.

*Sell couch (we have needed a new one for a while and this is the perfect chance). SOLD!!! A good friend of mine moving back to Bliss is buying it.

*Find a place to live in Louisiana. I am going to try and fly out there in September to meet with a rental agent and start looking at places off post.

*Go through the garage and throw out/sell things we don't need. Done! It feels so good to have that done.

*Find a new vet for Emma and Fishy. I am extremely picky especially because of Emma's epilepsy.

*Cancel gym membership, I kid you not we have not been there in a few months haha. I run daily and do not need it anymore.

*Find a cleaning company to deep clean the house. I know this sounds trivial but I know it needs to happen.

*Sell the house! Haha this is a no brainer, it officially goes on the market today, so fingers crossed.

Happy a great day!!

Long Weekend

We have had a great holiday weekend! It started out Thursday night with us running the Electric 5k in Las Cruces. It was so cool, we ran right before the electric light parade and it was packed with people.

Friday morning we got up bright and early to the run a 4th of July 5k. It was incredibly hilly but so fun. I even got to meet a fellow blogger friend, Amy. :)

Friday evening we went to Pop Goes the Fort on post and had a fantastic time! The 1st Armored Division band played as well as the El Paso Symphony (which at one point the commanding general conducted lol). The fireworks were spectacular!!! Far better than we both expected.

Saturday and Sunday were spent getting rid of excess stuff that we don't need. Kyle made a trip to a dumpster and we easily got rid of over a thousand pounds of stuff.

Today will be spent relaxing for the most part. I start 3 new classes today so it should be interesting.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

4th of July

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July. I hope you are able to spend it with family and friends but if not make the most of it and enjoy the day. Be safe!

Don't forget to remember those serving and that have served this great nation of ours!

God Bless America!
