the time has come!!!

Holy cow, I can't believe that FINALLY this will be happening at our house tomorrow:

The packers will be here bright and early in the morning to get started on packing up our house. The house looks like a tornado went through it but I think we are ready.

On Wednesday everything will be loaded up and on it's way to Arizona!! We even decided last night to buy a new washer and dryer. LOL! Crazy I know since we are in the process of moving but it just made sense (we already sold our old set) and won't even open the new set yet. Thanks to Sears and their 30% off all Kenmore appliances we purchased these beauties:

I am sooo excited to get these at the new house!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday!!!!

Hail and Farewell

Tonight was the Black Falcon Hail and Farewell at a very yummy italian restaurant. It was a bittersweet night for us as we were being farewelled. After 4 years with this battalion it was time to say goodbye. There were 5 soldiers being farewelled, 2 of which are great friends of ours (as well as their spouses). Kyle is the longest serving officer in this battalion which is unheard of.

I am so proud of all that he has accomplished while part of the Black Falcons. He has done many amazing things including becoming a jumpmaster, earning foreign jump wings (cambodian and canadian), deploying to Iraq and Haiti, Bronze Star medal recipient and earning his Senior Parachutist badge(30 jumps). I don't want people to think that I am bragging, I am just so incredibly proud of him for the soldier  and man that he is!

It was a great night getting together with everyone enjoying good food and even better company. I will leave you all with this picture:

I hope everyone is having a great night!!!

Countdown Begins- UPDATE

I can't believe we are 2 weeks away from leaving Fort Bragg!! Kyle is in the process of clearing post and I'm in the process of getting rid of stuff that we don't need and making sure the animals and vehicles are ready for the trip. My Dad will fly in on the 25th to drive my car to Las Vegas and we will meet him back there a few days later. We get to spend 2 weeks visiting with family and we can't wait!!

Everything is falling into place and we should get the address to our new home at Fort Huachuca tomorrow! This Wednesday we will officially be farewelled by the battalion and for us that will make everything official. After 4 incredibly long years here we finally get to say goodbye.

Woo Hoo!!

I will post another update after our Hail and Farewell on Wednesday.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

*I wanted to give a quick update. I said above that we should get the address to our new home tomorrow, but I was wrong. We got it today!!!!! A few minutes after I posted this housing called and gave us our address! The best part is we can move in whenever we want. The house is currently vacant and is just waiting for us. We are so excited!!

Happy Mother's Day

This year marks my 2nd Mother's Day without having my Mom. I can tell you that it hasn't gotten easier but somehow harder to comprehend.

I want to honor 3 amazing women in this post who have shaped me into the person I am.

1. My Mom, Kathy, was the MOST amazing woman I have ever known. Growing up she was always there for us. She was patient, understanding, loving, funny, compassionate and incredibly kind. She would have done anything for anyone and didn't expect anything in return. She was quiet but very strong and she loved her family fiercely. When she got sick she never felt sorry for herself, she only wanted to get better. She and my Dad had been married for 30 years and while they had struggles like most couples she stayed committed to us as a family. I miss her so much everyday. It breaks my heart that my children will never get to know her and I will try to tell them everyday how much their grandma wanted to be around for them. I love you Mom and I miss you! Thank you for the example you set for us!

2. My sister, Lisa is a remarkable person and mother. Since we were little she has always looked out for me. She is 4 years older than me and was always someone I looked up to. She is the mother to our niece and nephew, Kylie and Grayson. My brother in law Chris has spent the whole of their marriage working on a professional race team that has kept them apart. He lives in Michigan (and is traveling 23 weeks out of the year) and she and the kids live in Las Vegas close to our Dad. She took care of my Mom the entire time she was sick, making sure she got to appointments, cleaning and making meals. I can never express to her how much I love her and how thankful I am that she is my sister. She is tough as nails and she takes tremendous care of her family.

3. My MIL, Chris. Since I married Kyle 4 years ago she has been a great inspiration in my life. She has overcome a lot of obstacles health wise and is a great person. She has always been a great support to me and has always treated me like a daughter. I am thankful to have her in my life!!

I hope all of you amazing Mother's out there have a wonderful day!!!!!

Military Spouse Appreciation Day Blog Hop

Riding the Roller Coaster

I decided to participate in the Blog Hop and want to thank Riding the Roller Coaster and Household Diva 6 for hosting! I look forward to connecting with more bloggers!!

I have been happily married to my husband Kyle for almost 4 years. We have known each other for 15 years (since middle school) and continue to learn from each other and embrace this crazy Army life. We are just two people from Las Vegas who fell in love!

My husband- Kyle- has been in the Army for a little over 5 years. He is a military intelligence officer and a paratrooper. He is dedicated to his job and his soldiers. I have never met anyone like him and truly believe he was meant for me. Next months he will start MICCC (Captains Career Course) and begin the next chapter in his military career and hopefully after that Ranger School.

As for me-Jen- I have embraced this crazy military life. Being away from family has been tough for me since I am very close with my family. I lost my Mom in 2011 to Cancer and I strive everyday to be as strong as she was. Despite crazy training schedules, late nights, impromptu deployments, scheduled deployments, FRG commitments and at one point working myself I am still 110% a dedicated military spouse. As much as I want to scream some days I would not change this life for anything.

On my blog I have been very candid at our struggle to have children. We have endured 4 miscarriages, 3 rounds of clomid and 2 failed IUI's but we WILL NEVER give up our dream to have a precious child. If that means biologically or through adoption we will be parents. For the time being we are parents to our fur-babies, Emma and Fishy.

Welcome to my blog!!!

There is no better way to spend a Cinco De Mayo birthday than at our favorite mexican restaurant, El Cazador. It was a great day!!!

Battalion Ball

Tomorrow is our Battalion Ball and it will be our last one with the Black Falcons. It will be a great night with all of our friends. A few weeks ago I decided to get a new dress (I previously had purchased a red dress), I decided I wanted something a little classier. This is what I picked:

It is comfortable and gorgeous on! I also purchased these shoes:

I also decided some jewelry would be nice:

I got earrings to match.

I can't wait to get dressed up and enjoy a night out with my hubby!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
