This year marks my 2nd Mother's Day without having my Mom. I can tell you that it hasn't gotten easier but somehow harder to comprehend.
I want to honor 3 amazing women in this post who have shaped me into the person I am.
1. My Mom, Kathy, was the MOST amazing woman I have ever known. Growing up she was always there for us. She was patient, understanding, loving, funny, compassionate and incredibly kind. She would have done anything for anyone and didn't expect anything in return. She was quiet but very strong and she loved her family fiercely. When she got sick she never felt sorry for herself, she only wanted to get better. She and my Dad had been married for 30 years and while they had struggles like most couples she stayed committed to us as a family. I miss her so much everyday. It breaks my heart that my children will never get to know her and I will try to tell them everyday how much their grandma wanted to be around for them. I love you Mom and I miss you! Thank you for the example you set for us!
2. My sister, Lisa is a remarkable person and mother. Since we were little she has always looked out for me. She is 4 years older than me and was always someone I looked up to. She is the mother to our niece and nephew, Kylie and Grayson. My brother in law Chris has spent the whole of their marriage working on a professional race team that has kept them apart. He lives in Michigan (and is traveling 23 weeks out of the year) and she and the kids live in Las Vegas close to our Dad. She took care of my Mom the entire time she was sick, making sure she got to appointments, cleaning and making meals. I can never express to her how much I love her and how thankful I am that she is my sister. She is tough as nails and she takes tremendous care of her family.
3. My MIL, Chris. Since I married Kyle 4 years ago she has been a great inspiration in my life. She has overcome a lot of obstacles health wise and is a great person. She has always been a great support to me and has always treated me like a daughter. I am thankful to have her in my life!!
I hope all of you amazing Mother's out there have a wonderful day!!!!!
