New Adventure

For the last few months I have been debating on whether or not I should go back to school. Well, yesterday I took the plunge and enrolled at the American Military University! Wahoo!! I never did finish college after high school (ie: lived on my own and had to work full-time, it was super hard juggling both) and have always regretted that. For the time being I will be working towards my Associates in Paralegal Studies and then eventually get my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I am so excited to finally be doing this! I will begin classes the beginning of September and they are online which is just what I wanted. I am excited to learn new things that I can actually apply to my everyday job. Yay for new adventures!!

I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday, it has been a very long week! We have a Hail and Farewell tomorrow (not really how I wanted to spend my Friday night) but alas I will be there. We will be welcoming our new Batallion Commander LTC Bailey. I'm sure it will be a good time.

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

a little discouraged

Well, our first round of Clomid did not work. My "friend" decided to make an appearance today, ugh! I really just wanted to sit and cry, but I didn't. We start our 2nd round on Wednesday and we are hoping for better results this time. Wish us luck!!!

Birthday fun..

Yesterday was my 25th birthday and it was a wonderful day!!! My day started at 7am, even though I had to work I was still in an awesome mood. Kyle came home at around 7:45 yelling "HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY", it was too cute!! I headed off to work and my boss decided to take me out to lunch. For my Fayetteville friends, we went to a place called Circa, its a great little restaurant downtown. It was great!!

With it being Friday I got off work at around 3:30 and came home to a few presents to unwrap and lots of birthday cards. Kyle went way overboard as he always does, I am so blessed to have him in my life. He is amazing!! We headed off to dinner at Olive Garden and then came home to eat some yummy Coldstone Cookies and Cream Ice Cream cake...sooo good!!! We settled in to just relax and enjoy the night. I was able to skype with my family, it was awesome to see my Mom, Dad, Lisa and Kylie.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!!

Is it Friday yet?!

I can't wait for Friday, not only is it the end of the work week but it's also my BIRTHDAY!! I can't believe I will be turning 25. I don't have anything exciting planned just dinner out with Kyle and watching movies at home (believe me I am much happier at home haha). We picked up my cake yesterday, yummy cookies and cream ice cream cake from Coldstone, yum!!!!

I talked to my Mom last night for a little bit and it makes me happy that she hasn't been getting sick much lately. She has been taking chemo pills for the last 5 days and has had minimal sickness. She is so tough and I am amazed at her drive and determination. A few weeks ago she finally gave in and let my sister shave her head, but while she was down in Phoeniz at the treatment center she purchased 2 wigs and she looks fantastic!!! It boosted her spirits a lot and made her feel confident again. I am looking forward to skyping with her and my family tomorrow for my birthday.

This weekend we are on a mission to find DVD racks, we have spent the last few weeks searching for good ones and have had no luck. I'm thinking a trip up to IKEA is going to be necessary, maybe I can talk Kyle into going on Saturday. I'm sure I will find other things there that I "need". I am ready to have the house completely decorated and done. I have definitely been slacking on it, I have pictures that still need to be hung and boxes in the spare rooms that need to be unpacked. Ugh, at some point I guess it will get finished.

Hopefully in the next few weeks we will find out if Kyle is cleared to go to the Pre-Ranger Course, with is being relatively close to a deployment we are afraid his Battalion Commander will say no. He would miss a lot of training and also a JFEX (Joint Fires Exercise- not so good when he is the S2). Either way I'm happy with the outcome, I just know he wants to get Ranger School out of the way.

Well, not much else to report. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday!!

Vacation Recap

I'm trying to remember everything that we did on vacation, it definitely went by too quickly, but it was amazing to just be home. Here is a run-down of what we did:

*Kyle and I flew out to Vegas on July 7th for a week to spend time with our families. It was amazing to see everyone! We spent the first few days with Kyle's family, which is always fun!! We hung out by the pool and just relaxed it was great. His mom made some great meals and we played boggle (which is always interesting when Kyle and his brother, Justin are involved).

*My sister, Lisa and I finally saw "Eclipse", I had promised her that I would wait until I got there to see it. We had a great time of eating junk food and enjoying a great movie. We had our cousin Jordan come along with us, it was a blast!! Lisa was nice enough to pay for me to get my hair cut and colored by a friend of hers, I desperately needed it!

*Kyle was able to go out with his brother and spend some quality time together, I know he really enjoyed it and I am glad he went!

*Sunday, we had a barbeque at Kyle's parents house. My dad, sister and niece came, but my mom wasn't feeling up to it (she made my dad go). We had a great time hanging out together and enjoying good food. That night we headed over to stay at my sisters. She lives right next door to my parents so it made seeing them easy. My mom had just gotten home from Arizona from her treatment and she wasn't feeling that great. We spent a lot of time with our niece Kylie, she is 3 going on 30 and is such a fun little girl.

*Spending time with my mom was such a blessing. Kyle and I pretty much kept her company all day, even if we just sat in silence it was amazing to just be with her. She is such a strong woman and it is so hard to me to watch her be so helpless. We of course encouraged her to take her pills and I believe at some point she told Kyle she would throw the vicks container and her cell phone at him haha.

* I never thought it was going to be so hard to leave. We said goodbye to everyone and of course shed some tears. I had the toughest time saying goodbye to Mom. I laid with her on the couch and just cried. I know she is in pain and it kills me. I promised my Dad that I would come back for Thanksgiving and that is a promise I won't break.

* Although we were sad to leave it is awesome to be back in our house. We got back this morning and took a long nap. We headed to Kyle's work to sign him back in after leave, boo!  It will be nice to get back into a routine.

Sorry for the long update, once I get my pics downloaded I will post a few from vacation!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!

Finally Back...

I'm back and it feels great!!! It has been quite a while since I last blogged. Kyle and I got back home today to NC after a week in Vegas. I promise I will be back later today with a huge update! I am looking forward to catching up on everyones blogs!

Good times...

I am so bummed that 4th of July is over, we had such a great day yesterday!! Here is a run down of what we did this weekend:

Saturday- We spent the day shopping, Old Navy was having an awesome sale so we took advantage. Kyle got a few books for the plane ride and then we decided it was time to hit the pool. We spent a few hours swimming and enjoying the beautiful day. We watched "The Invention of Lying" with Jennifer Garner and Ricky Gervais, I definitely recommend this movie, it was better than I expected.

Sunday- We got up bright and early and headed to Carowinds. We spent a few hours there (I got sick, pretty sure the hormones I am taking were the cause) and then headed home. We decided to go to the events on post. We watched The Golden Knights doing an amazing demonstration and got to see the band "Chevelle" play. We spent the rest of the night hanging out with some great friends (they live right across the street from the parade field), we could hear everything going on including the 82 Airborne Division band play. They were victims of a horrible fire (it happened on Friday) that destroyed all of their instruments, uniforms and sheet music, but thanks to the community who donated everything they needed the show went on. The night was capped off with a fantastic fireworks show!

Overall, we had an awesome weekend! We are spending today just relaxing and possibly heading to the pool later.

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July!!!

I will leave you with a few pictures from yesterday:

Happy 4th of July!!

I know I am a few days early in saying this but I am not sure how often I will be getting on here this weekend. We have a full weekend ahead of us and we are in countdown mode for flying out of NC on Wednesday morning.

Today has been a really great day, I always enjoy when my hubby gets days off because that means he will bring me lunch at work and we can hang out for a bit during the day. He decided that he was going to get me one of my birthday presents today so I could have it for the flight....he got me a portable dvd player! I am so excited that we can watch a movie on the plane (hopefully that will make the time go by, not a fan of flying). We went shopping for new luggage ours is falling apart, we found a great set, woo hoo!! I also talked him into going to Old Navy with me to pick up a few things for our trip.

Tomorrow, I have to go in for bloodwork in the morning, yay (sense the sarcasm). We are getting closer to being cleared to start trying! The last step is I have to go to radiology on Tuesday and have this horrid iodine test done, I'm a little scared and nervous about it. We aren't getting our hopes up but really praying that this first cycle of clomid will be successful. We plan on heading to the pool after my bloodwork and just soak up some sun.

Sunday, we are headed to Carowinds, wahoo!!!! I am ready for some thrill-rides!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th!!!
