Academic Goals

Most of you know that I have been going to school since last September. I am chugging along and taking 4-5 classes at a time. I had a goal to be finished with my Bachelor's by the end of the next year. However, if I stick to what I am doing now I will be finished by May 2015!

I was unsure of what I wanted to do after but I decided that since I will have over a year left on the GI Bill, I am going to pursue my Master's in Psychology. My ultimate goal is to get a job with DoD working at a child development center or in a school.

I honestly never thought I would be considering a Master's, but now that I am in school I am loving every second of it. I am glad that I made the decision to wait and go to school. I feel like I take it more seriously than I would have right after high school. I am excited to see what the future holds.

Happy Wednesday!

  2. Way to go Jen! I went to college right after high school and it took me a good 6 years to get my Bachelor's degree. I didn't do very well in college because I was just plain burnt out in school. I think the way you are doing school is awesome and Im so happy that you are doing so well in it!

  5. That's so exciting! I waited a bit to go back, and used to beat myself up that I didn't graduate on "time" with friends. But then who knows what they want right out of HS?! I'm glad I waited. So proud of you, chickie!

  7. So happy for you! I didn't know you could use the GI Bill on a Masters- that's awesome! My husband used his on 2 Bachelor's degrees and is going to grad school now. I started undergrad right after high school but just finished this past December. I'm with you- I was a much better student as an adult! Graduated Cum Laude & the last semester with a 4.0. If monet grew on trees, I'd definitely pursue a masters as well. Way to go!

  8. Congrats on the decision! I'll be honest, a Master's is no joke. I said I'd never do it, but I am so glad that I did. I think it will open up so many opportunities for me.
