Happy 1 year!

1 year ago today I went through one of the most life changing experiences. I am celebrating 1 year of being glasses free!!

Getting LASIK done was the best decision I have ever made. I now have 20/15 vision and was able to drive the day after my surgery. If any of you are contemplating having it done, just do it!! You will not regret it at all. Now I can't say that I wasn't terrified as I was laying there while the Dr. was working but I would make that choice over and over again. Yes it is pricy but comparing it to the costs of contacts and glasses for the rest of your life made the choice a no brainer.

I have not had any issues with my vision, no blurring or anything out of the ordinary.

I used to be this:

and now I'm this:

 100% glasses free!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

  2. I would love to have LASIK. The money is stopping me. I am hoping that I can do it next year with our tax refund.

  7. Congrats!! I have considered getting LASIK in the future but the thought that I can't close my eyes during the surgery because the doctor will be working on my eyes scares me. Haha.

  8. Homeslice, random question: does Tricare cover any of the associated costs? I've been considering it for myself and have no idea where to start (though Bragg might not be the best idea).

  9. I've heard good things about the surgery, too bad I can't do it. Calcification of the optic nerve can't be fixed with Lasik though I wish it could. Maybe my spouse will get it done to his eyes at the next duty station.

  10. Congrats, I'd love to do it but I'm too chicken (haha, I know...crazy, but I can't get over the fear, I shouldn't have read about the flap thing in the process ;) ).

You look great, but you did look cute w/glasses too. :)

  11. hahah thats funny, I was just PUT in glasses again - I got a really nice pink pair and am into how cute they look. When I was 14 my dr. said I didn't need glasses but would need them again in 10-15 years and sure enough 10years later at 24 I'm in glasses again but, this time I'm loving them. + I don't have to wear them all the time so that helps!

    2. I'm thinking I will do some serious research on it after law school and hopefully make the decision to do it. I have astigmatism so contacts cost so much money -and I hate them lol- but I don't like wearing glasses when I go out so I'm probably straining my eyes too much.

    3. Yeah what you're saying is true. Your eyes are probably just strained too much. It is amazing how much contacts are it's crazy!

  16. I would consider Lasik, but I just know I would end up wearing glasses with blank lenses.. LOL. I love my glasses! But it's true, they are often inconvenient.

  17. Wow congrats on one year without glasses! I only started wearing glasses during my senior year of high school, so I haven't had them my whole life, but I do get annoyed with them sometimes and have thought about it when I have the money!

  18. Kev got his eyes done a few years ago and is still so grateful for it!

  19. Hubs has told me about his Lasik procedure and it creeps the hell out of me! Hopefully my eyes won't ever get to the point where I need to do. Not sure if I could deal with that.

  20. My husband has been wanting to get his eyes done for years...he's literally blind without his glasses/contacts. I'm just so hesitant because of all the different crazy stories you hear about it going wrong. He wants to be a pilot, so I know it's only a matter of time before he has to get the surgery. YIKES!!!

    1. He should do it! Yes there are risks but that is true of anything. :) My husband and I both are so happy we had it done.
