While most of you ladies are getting a wonderful winter wonderland we have been getting this:
DUST! A whole lot of dust. Driving to post last night was an adventure for sure, I could barely see the car in front of me because the wind and dust were so bad. I know that we will have this type of weather around for a little bit. It's ok when I am safely in my house but not when I have to drive in it. As I was leaving my class on post last night I noticed that it was snowing haha. I swear the weather here is so bi-polar it has no idea what it wants to do.
I'm off to a spouses luncheon so let's hope the weather cooperates and I don't get blown off the road by the ridiculous wind that has been happening all morning.
Have a great day!
Ewww,I guess I shouldn't complain to much about all the snow up here, lol. Have fun at your luncheon!
ReplyDeleteHoly dust storm, Batman! We used to get BAD dust storms in Oklahoma when I lived there, too...it's almost surreal when it happens, it's like fog...but not...haha.
ReplyDeleteI think a dust storm is on my list of things I want to see in my lifetime - just definitely not while driving! Glad you made it home okay :)
ReplyDeleteWe are stationed here too and I thought my house was going to blow away last night, and then i went to let our dog out and there was snow! O El Paso, crazy crazy lol
ReplyDeleteHaha I know it's so crazy! I could hardly sleep last night.
DeleteSame here! We live in the Northeast and apparently this side of town gets it the worst. I wont miss the dust storms when we move to our next post haha
DeleteWe are in the NE as well! There really isn't a whole lot out here so we don't have enough building to block all the wind haha. :)
DeleteWhile vacationing in Egypt, we experienced a dust storm. It was crazy and fast moving. One moment I could see the signs on the other side of the Nile and the next it was all red dust. Drive safe and have fun at the luncheon! :) Esther Norine Designs
ReplyDeleteWow that's crazy!!! Be safe driving!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I think dust storms are one weather pattern that I have yet to experience. And I can't say that it is high on the list either! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, man, that is dusty! I hate dust storms and that nasty feeling you get in your hair. Have fun at the luncheon. We're snowed in today; OccDoc even got sent home. Yay snow day!
ReplyDeleteBad news bears! I'm originally from KS and this was a regular occurrence for us too. Bleck!

ReplyDeleteEww I bet that's annoying & probably hurts!
ReplyDeleteDrive safe! This is one type of weather that I've yet to encounter!
ReplyDeleteDust storms are so annoying.
ReplyDeletestay safe! hope it clears up soon! hope you do not have asthma or allergies, that looks like an asthma attack setting waiting to happen!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I don't have allergies or asthma. I feel sorry for those that do. It gets crazy.
DeleteI do not miss the dust storms! Be safe, driving in it is dangerous fo sho!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! I've never seen anything like this before! Is it awful to walk around in?? Good luck :-\
ReplyDeleteHaha I thought you meant like a dusting of snow at first! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, driving in the dust like that would make me a nervous wreck. Driving in the snow/ice here makes me crazy too (not that it take much ;) ).
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right the weather is bi-polar this year.
That looks nasty!!! Ick! I would take snow over that dust any day!!!!
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Suburban Mom
That must not be fun if it gets in the house!
ReplyDeleteThat's some serious dust! Doesn't look like fun at all.
ReplyDeleteOy. I am SO not looking forward to the duststorms this year! At least I don't have contacts anymore.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I totally didn't mean to blow you off at the luncheon this afternoon. I was groggy and needed to sit down. I realized after the fact I was pretty brusque. Sorry :(
Kind of looks like snow.. it is just confused. Haha. No snow or dust for us... rain expected tomorrow into Saturday. That is always needed though!
ReplyDeleteEw. I'll take the snow over dust!
ReplyDeleteoh I remember those days when we were in NM. I remember walking to my work at Holloman AFB. I had sunglasses on to protect my eyes from the dust/dirt that wind was blowing around. I didn't like the grit in my eyes with contac lenses! O the things to put up with while living in the desert! LOL! Hugs!
