Let's Be Honest

I thought it was time for a let's be honest post. They are so fun to write.

Let's be honest....It's hard to believe that we will likely be moving again in less than a year. If an additional course doesn't work out for Kyle off we go to a new home! Don't get me wrong I love the adventure, but man it's tiring the older you get haha.

Let's be honest....I'm really tired of people sending me messages about their MLM businesses. Especially when it is someone I'm friends with on social media who I haven't personally spoken to in years. Don't use my kid as an excuse to send me a message when all you really want to do is peddle your product. If you want me to consider buying your product just ask me.

Let's be honest....I'm desperately trying to find my running mojo again. I've had a few really good runs lately so hopefully I can get back to where I want to be. We signed up for another race so that's enough motivation to get my butt into gear.

Let's be honest....I had a brief thought of trying the Keto diet but let's be honest we love bread and potato products way too much in this house. Kyle and I would be hungry and desperately trying to sneak bread into the house like a kid hiding a candy bar from his parents. We don't eat terribly but this would not make for a happy home haha. Good on those who can do it, you guys are rockstars!

Let's be honest....I'm not a fan of last minute plans. I'm trying to get better but I usually have my days planned so when something comes up I tend to get frustrated. I need to be better about just going with the flow.

Let's be honest....I am LOVING the Kansas weather. It is a huge change from the humidity of Louisiana, while it is still hot it is not unbearable and that to me is a huge win. I hear people say it's humid here but I'm definitely not feeling it, well I could be immune to it at this point.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

  1. They don't make humidity like Louisiana anywhere else, except maybe Houston! Love posts like this!

  2. AMEN to the MLM part. I respect the MLM people who can be both my real friend AND make money for their family from home. But I've had people only ever make time to talk to me or reach out when they wanted me to "join their business". Sorry but if you barely talk to me how is that appropriate?! I love seeing their posts and when I want something they sell I make sure to go to them instead of anywhere else - but I don't like feeling "used". I once tried politely telling this to a friend (fellow military spouse) and she was so outraged that she defriended me! Good riddance in my opinion, if that's your reaction to an adult conversation. lol okay I'm rambling now but I completely agree. And also about the keto diet omg greg is so strict with it and I find I can follow it somewhat but I allow myself healthy carbs as well. Otherwise momma is gonna be CRAZY and nobody wants that!

  3. Haha to the being immune to the humidity! And people up North really have no idea what humidity is until they've been down south! It's way worse down here! And seriously, what is up with all of the random people selling stuff now on Facebook and always reaching out to you to buy something. I'm over it too!

  5. I hate the MLM messages too. I rarely us FB messenger so when I get a message from someone I haven't spoken to in a while, I just know it's going to be crap. Ugh!

  6. In our first three marriage, Nick and I moved three times. This year is our fourth anniversary and Nick and I considered moving again, even though we are staying here in Hawaii for two more years. Yeah, the rent is kinda high, but I decided that there is no way I am going to move if I don't have to! I especially don't want to pay to move. I love where we live and I don't want to have to move on my own if I don't have to, which is totally what would have ended up happening. I feel you on those frequent moves. I like that we will probably be here for 3 years total. Nick and I did the keto diet for 30 days a few years ago. Nick was totally fine but I was super cranky and Nick says all I did was talk about the food I was going to eat when we were done. So I think that annoyed him. No more keto diets for us!

  7. I think I can just say, "yes, absolutely, I agree!" to ALL of these! Switch Kansas to Missouri, though, for me, but they're right next door! ;-) I miss the Missouri weather so much - actually having all four seasons is my jam!

  8. Where will you move next?
Omg Kansas has to be amazing compared to Louisiana. People who have never lived in Louisiana just do NOT get it. The place is HORRIBLE. The heat. The mosquitos. Yuck!

  9. I keep the house hotter than most (77, I can bear 78 if humidity is low) so when people complain about heat sometimes, I'm like "I don't even feel it".

  10. Oh the MLM messages are killing me. I give them SO much credit for working hard for their families, but the buttering up drive me bananas.

  11. Yes Yes Yes!! You guys are such troopers for moving so much! I can't imagine packing and re-packing and packing some more! The Keto diet is not for me- give me all of the bread! I don't know how those people do it! I'm such a planner too. If my days aren't planned out in advance I feel like life just won't continue on. I need to get better at going with the flow too!

  12. Fun post for sure! We've not moved in 28 years. Often wanted a different house but I can't go to open houses when they're for sale. I used to and Phil didn't want me to for various reasons. Good way to get ideas though. I only think of where I want to live when a smaller place is better. We eat healthy and don't diet. I enjoy certain types of bread and cookies and chocolate so diets don't work for me. Just keep up the walking and stop eating when I feel full. Weather. Warm notvtoo humid lately. Better than hot summers in New Mexico! :-}

  13. I'm not a fan of last minute plans either. I get those messages too. Usually like, "Hey do you want to join my team?" and I'm like, "And who are you?"

  14. Haha, I hear you on the bread and potatoes and carbs. I need them in my life! ;) Love this post!

  15. Keto has been awesome for us! I love bread, too, but I was surprised by how much I don't actually miss it now!

Also, in regards to running mojo...I find Thirsty Thursday always helps haha do a little run, and enjoy a little drink as a reward ;)

  16. Since living down south on the coast, I would never complain about the "dry" heat again! It's nothing compared to the crazy humidity we get!

  17. I hear ya girl, the older we get, it just gets harder to move... On another note, I remember NYC summers being so hot and humid. I am LOVING the weather here, haha. I realize how humid Singapore is and how so not humid NYC is right now even though my parents are complaining about the heat/humidity. AHAHA. I think I'll stay here a little longer... (I wish!) Am thinking of going keto for a few wks to kickstart my weight loss journey. I'm so incredibly ginormous now, sigh. And need to start running. Double sigh. ;) I have no idea what MLM is so, have nothing to say there!!! ;)

  18. I often ask myself is there a place with worse humidity than coastal NC? My answer is always Louisiana. We went to DC at the beginning of the week and it was so nice (aka low humidity). It's hard to believe 5 hours can make such a difference. I used to think Midwest humidity was the worse. Nope. It isn't so bad and coming from Louisiana you must really feel like it's not so bad. I'm not a fan of last minute plans either. Makes military life a little challenging at time ;)

  19. Moving twice in a year?! Yikes! But if anyone can handle it, it's you!

  20. Oh my goodness, I didn't realize you might have to move again so soon! Wow! I can imagine that gets old after a while! I'm with you on the MLM thing. It's everywhere! Also I know you didn't mention this in your post but I just have to tell you the family pics you shared on instagram are amazing! You have such a beautiful family!

  21. Oh no! To contemplate moving again when you've only just packed your boxes must be galling. We are on a 6 month lease but the thought of packing up and moving again in 6 months makes me feel a bit nauseous!

  22. Ugh those MLM messages are never fun! If you want me to buy your stuff just tell me you sell "X" and if I want anything I'll find you. So many people get upset when you don't buy, but it's not personal. Enough of my mini ranting. I'm not sure I could do the keto diet either as we like breads too much. I am just getting back to finding my running mojo. It's so hard sometimes though.
