This weekend was another race weekend for us. Friday night was spent working on a paper for school and being lazy. Which let me tell you was really nice.
Saturday morning we dropped Emma of to be boarded (Fishy stayed home) and headed off to Albuquerque. We decided to have lunch at one of our favorite places, Del Taco. This is where we ate after we got engaged and it has always been a favorite of ours. It is 1000x better than Taco Bell.

We picked up our race packets and checked into our hotel. We had dinner at Mimi's Cafe with happens to be in the parking lot of the hotel we stayed at (convenient and amazing!). This was our 7th half marathon and I think it gets more fun with each one we do.
The run started at 7:30am on Sunday and it was a beautiful course! It was one of the best organized and marked runs that we have ever participated in. I didn't take any pictures along the course because I get paranoid when running along busy roads. Locals are getting ready for the Hot Air Balloon Festival next month and we were treated to a sneak preview. To see all those balloons in the air was awesome.
Once we finished we collected our medals and enjoyed a popsicle or two. They were setting up the table with the chips and salsa but at that point we were ready to get on the road. So Starbucks and a croissant was our post race meal (it has become a tradition).
Glad this race went well! I hope your next two go well also!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to go to the hot air balloon festival. The pictures always look amazing. That's neat that y'all got a sneak peek!
ReplyDeleteLove the medal! Good luck with your next races.
ReplyDeleteI love Starbucks, but I don't know if I could have passed up chips and salsa..my fave!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you guys had fun! How do you do with recovery time? I am looking at running a half on consecutive weekends, but wasn't sure if my body would recover from the first.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun! I can't believe you're running back to back halfs.
ReplyDeleteIs it really better than Taco Bell? I love Taco Bell and have always been iffy about trying Del Taco! haha

Awesome job, again! Ummm, anywhere that you can get fries (I think those are fries in that photo) with tacos, is fine by me :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm Starbucks and a croissant, drool. :) Glad you guys had a great race! And good luck on your next 2. Phew, I'm tired just thinking about it. ;)
ReplyDeleteBetter than Taco Bell? Now I must try it! Ha good job on the race! You guys are steam rolling them! Good job!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes!! You must try Del Taco. :)
DeleteI love that you do the races together! And a croissant and coffee is always the makings for a good tradition. ;)
ReplyDelete7th!? Amazing! Del Taco has the best breakfast tacos. One of the things I miss about Texas for sure.
ReplyDeleteStarbucks is my favorite most of the time. My first half is coming up in a few short weeks! I've got to get ready!
ReplyDeleteWe had a balloon fest in Colorado, and it truly is an incredible experience! I miss seeing the balloons on the way to work ;)
