Me Time

Do you ever feel like there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done and still take care of yourself?

I have felt like this lately. Between school, FRG, keeping up with housework and other volunteer commitments I realized that I have not taken care of myself. I promised myself a few months ago that I would try to take one day a week for me, yeah that hasn't happened.

It doesn't need to be anything extravagant, even 10 minutes sitting outside with some tea would be good enough for me, heck a run has been hard to come by these last few weeks. Even when I was on vacation, I was still doing school work and taking care of things from a distance. However, an awesome friend of mine convinced me to have a spa/lunch day next week and I can't wait. It will be nice to just relax and not think about anything else.

Bath and Body Works had a great sale yesterday so I stocked up on Aromatherapy bath products so maybe this will help my relaxation as well.

It is so important to take care of yourself and recharge when necessary.

I thought this was fitting lol.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!

Some Things

I swear I feel like May is flying by! The good thing is it has been jammed pack and will stay that way until the end of the month.

*The last half of the month is full of concerts: Kip Moore, Rodney Adkins, Sevendust, The Pretty Reckless and Five Finger Death Punch and I finally get to see Jersey Boys (YES! Oh how I love musicals)

*Just when I thought FRG stuff was slowing down it picked right back up...being the BN Advisor is stressful but worth it. Every day for the next 2 weeks I have at least one meeting that is unit/frg related.

*Since I have plans to do another marathon I finally invested in a camelbak and new running sunglasses. I had a $40 amazon gift card that I got for doing challenge with my sisters work so it was nice to not come out of pocket much. Next on my list is a new pair of running shoes, mine are ready to be retired.

*Thanks to coinstar for now offering gift cards, I changed in our coins and got a $50 gift card to Starbucks and a $50 gift card to Gamestop for Kyle. I will happily enjoy my $2 tea from Starbucks lol.

*I started talking to our real estate agent yesterday about listing our house at the end of the year. Reality is setting in that we will be selling our first home, it's bittersweet for sure.

Hope you all have a Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Snapshots

This weekend was a pretty good one, despite some sadness yesterday it was good!

You know a weekend is going to start out good when Office Space is on. :) After I finally pulled myself out of bed I headed off to a Change of Command at Kyle's work. Soon I will be attending Kyle's and it makes me sad. Well, it's more of a casing ceremony since there will be no incoming commander.

As with any weekend these days it involved school, not a horrible way to spend a Saturday morning. Got a few assignments done ahead of their due date so that makes me happy. We finally finished celebrating Kyle's birthday by having an early dinner at a local place called "The Hoppy Monk", they have over 200 types of beer and Kyle was a happy guy.

Sunday was more of a relaxed day. We dropped Emma off at the groomers because every pup deserves a spa day. :) She clearly was not amused by the bandana. While she was getting pampered we did some shopping and had lunch at Jason's Deli.

I even accompanied Kyle on his ruck march. He is doing awesome with his Ranger school training and actually said that since I walk so fast it helped him. Looks like I'm stuck going on ruck marches with him every evening lol.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Mother's Day Thoughts

I wasn't sure if I wanted to post anything today but I knew that I needed to. Mother's Day is not an easy day for me because of a few reasons. I want to honor the two women that have shaped me into who I am today and who I hope to emulate one day as a Mom.

To the woman that carried me, loved me despite my faults, supported my crazy decisions and was the MOST remarkable woman I have ever known. To my Mom, Kathy. There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss you and desperately wish that you were still here. You were the pillar of strength and love, you always sacrificed for your family without question or hesitation. You are now our guardian Angel who watches over us. I love you with all my heart and I will never forget you.

To my sister, Lisa. You are the matriarch of our family now and you have taken on that role so selflessly. You are there for me through everything and I could not imagine my life without you. You are a tremendous mother and I see so much of Mom in you. Thank you for all that you do and I love you more than you know.

To all those that are celebrating today, I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day.

However, my sweet husband and family have said to me many times today that I am a momma. A mother to 6 sweet angel babies and to these two:

To those who are struggling I leave you with this:

Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Over the last 6 years I have been blessed with some amazing friendships. The ladies (and guys) that have come into my life have become some of my dearest friends. When I first came into this life I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to make friends. I finally found my way and have met some incredible people. I am so proud to be a military spouse, I am proud to stand by my husband as he moves along in his career.

Each and every one of them have impacted my life and I am so thankful for them.

Today we say thank you to all those amazing military spouses who sacrifice so much and have kept the home fires burning even when times get tough.

Thank you to all my fellow milspouse bloggers, you all are amazing and thank you for what you do, you have all impacted my life.

Happy Friday!

Getting There

On Monday I started 5 more classes and I am slowly chipping away at getting my Bachelors in Psychology!

I have sat down and really looked at my class load and have committed to taking classes until I am done without a break. By the end of this year I will have 25 classes complete and am on track to graduate at the end of the next year. You have no idea how happy that makes me! I may eventually decide to get my Masters but only time will tell.

Once we find out where we will be moving too, I will start looking at looking for jobs directly related to my field, working with children is my goal, specifically military kids.

For now it is full steam ahead with no signs of slowing down. With Kyle leaving for a few months in the fall it will most definitely keep me busy.

This is definitely how I'm feeling haha.

Hope you all have a great day!
