Most of you know that back in April I finally had my genetic testing done. It was pretty extensive testing as it was expanded to test more in depth into the chromosomes as well as for the Cystic Fibrosis gene (I have two cousins that have CF, and one passed away 2 years ago). The results were back weeks ago but I didn't get them until last Friday.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect, throughout this infertility journey it has been one frustrating thing after another. Much to my surprise my results came back completely normal, and I do not have the CF gene (which has nothing to do with infertility, but I wanted to be tested just to be sure). Now that we have that out of the way we wait for Kyle's results. He has a follow up appointment this week in San Antonio and we will hopefully have his results soon after that.
His results are the last piece to the puzzle, once we have those results we can really focus on our next step and figure out what direction we are going. Our feelings throughout all of this have not changed, there is nothing that we want more than to have a child. After having our niece and nephew this last week it made that even more clear, our goal in life is to be parents and to be the best parents that we can be.
We won't give up.
Thinking of you! My niece has CF and it's been hard to hear, because when we're ready to start a family, I will for sure need to get tested for the gene as well. I hope everything comes back great from Kyle's testing!
ReplyDeleteThinking about you as you wait for Kyle's tests come back. That's so nice to hear that everything on your end is positive.
ReplyDeleteUnrelated to IF, I carry the CF gene (my cousin has it). Andy doesn't, but there is a 50% chance that my kids will be carriers too.
ReplyDeleteRelated to IF, I think it is good that your tests came back normal! From what I've read, it's harder to treat female IF than male IF, so even if there is something going on with Kyle, your odds are still better.
I'm so glad you haven't given up and that your attitude remains positive. I know you and Kyle will be awesome parents!
So glad that the CF test came back negative, PRAISE to GOD!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you finally have your results and prayers for Kyle's. I can only imagine what you have been through with this struggle, please know you have friends praying for you and your IF journey!!!!! <3

ReplyDeleteHoping that the puzzle pieces fall into place soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that the results came back and everything looks good on your end. Hoping for the same for Kyle. Even though you still won't have an answer about why you're struggling with infertility, at least you'll know that it is not due to a chromosome abnormality. Keep thinking about you!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys get Kyle's test results soon and are able to get some actionable advice on how to move forward because seriously... just looking at the pictures of when your niece and nephew were over, I could just tell you two would be the most amazing parents!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get his results soon! Waiting is so hard.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this leads to more good news! I have a friend who was trying for years and was going down the adoption route and she just found out she conceived!! Fingers crossed for you two!!
ReplyDeleteI found out when I was pregnant with Grace I carry the CF gene. Didn't even know that... especially since I am not aware of anyone that has it in our family. Hoping you guys get good news and the journey will continue in a positive direction.
