Saturday afternoon we headed off to Alexandria for our first race of the year. It was the Spirits 5k. It was held at a local restaurant and to be honest it was one of the best organized ones we have ever participated in. Not only was the course awesome but the post race refreshments were amazing. Now for some races you get a ticket for one adult beverage, oh no not this one, you had free reign of a beer trailer! Haha, Kyle was a happy guy. There was beer, jambalaya, fried cinnamon rolls and king cake.
This was our first race since December and it felt great, Kyle did awesome and placed 2nd in his age group.

ReplyDeleteThat post race food sounds awesome.. you all make me want to run. Then I remember I don't like running. Lol.
ReplyDeleteSo lucky to get to run yearround!! We've got so much snow right now, the kids are out of school. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! You should come to Shreveport and do some 5ks! We have tons in the area.
ReplyDeleteI love Shreveport, we will definitely have to do a race there at some point. :)
DeleteHow in the world do you have time to run and take classes and work?! You are such a busy bee!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the half this weekend! I'd give ANYTHING to be running outside right about now, but nope, 13 inches of snow. UGH.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the best after party for a race! I truly am envious of all the races you run. Good luck this weekend!

DeleteI was talking to J last night and I mentioned that maybe next year if I'm healthy enough I'd like to give running a try. He seemed to like that idea. You inspire me.
