Ready for Vacation

This summer Kyle and I finally get to take a vacation, he has block leave the first two weeks of July and we are definitely going to take advantage of it!

The first week we have plans to go here:

We have never been to Houston and there are a lot of places there that we have always wanted to see. The Johnson Space Center is definitely one of them, we plan on eating our way through the city and seeing the popular sites. It is only 3 hours from us so it is definitely ideal. We may even make the hour trip to Galveston to go to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark.

The second week we are driving to my sister's and going here with the kids:

Universal Studios Orlando!!! We are going to spend 4 days there and we can't wait. Kyle has never gone on a trip like this with the kids so he is really looking forward to it.

I am really looking forward to this time off with him, we both have definitely earned it.

Do you all have any summer vacations planned yet?

  2. SO FUN!!!!!!!! I'm excited that you'll be visiting JSC. I don't know if you know this or not, but I work for NASA (another center). A lot of my friends who visit JSC often LOVE it there. Universal is going to be so fun. We went to Universal in LA and wish we would have went before we were leaving CA because it was just such a fun time.

  9. YAY for a real vacation!!! I haven't been to Galveston, but I've been to South Padre, a bit farther south, and it was a lot of fun. I figure it's all the Gulf of Mexico, right? That waterpark though, I've always wanted to go there! You're going to love Universal - I haven't been to the one in Florida but I've been to the one in CA and it was a BLAST.

  13. Fun! We don't have anything planned yet, but we'll probably go to the Lake of the Ozarks once or twice. I want to get away on a big vacation, but I don't like to fly and we live smack dab in the middle of the country, so it's a long drive to get to a beach/ocean.

  14. I wanted to go to Houston when I lived in Texas, but never made it. I may be going on a pre-deployment Disney cruise this summer. We are still discussing it.
