Weekend Snapshots

For the most part this weekend was pretty low key which is exactly how we like them!

Friday I finally went and got some new running shoes. My old ones were over a year old and were pretty worn out. I stuck with the same brand and I love them!!! I also picked up our bib belts, even saved $40 so I was happy.

Saturday afternoon was spent working on our race scrapbook and doing a little shopping. Thankful that Kyle doesn't mind running around all over town to just get out of the house.

Saturday night we ran the Run for a Margarita 5k, it was AWESOME! After the race we were treated to a complimentary margarita and free food. My new shoes and bib belt worked great.

Sunday was spent relaxing and watching the world cup. We had plans to go to that concert but decided to just lounge at home. I finally finished up birthday shopping for our nephew so now they are all wrapped and ready for our trip to AZ this weekend. :)

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!

A New Style

We are of course in the middle of summer...for me that means a very dry and HOT summer. I realized yesterday that it is time to cut and thin out my hair. I had ridiculous thick hair and if it gets too long it feels like I have 20 pounds of hair on my head. Not fun at all!

I made an appointment for Tuesday to get my hair cut and colored. I tend to try and go lighter for the summer. These looks are ideas of what I am going for.

I love the cut, just don't want my hair blonde like this.

If I had to choose one of the 3 to emulate it would be this one! The cut and color is perfect.

My hair is similar to this color right now and I love the cut.

I cannot wait to have something new! It's always fun to change up your look.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Throwback Thursday (Oh It's a Good One!)

I love Throwback Thursday it gives me a chance to find some pretty epic photos haha.

I'm going back...way back to middle school.

6th grade (1996). Check out my awesome shirt, it was my Dad's and I loved it!

7th Grade (1997). I am loving my ginormous Adidas jacket haha.

8th Grade (1998). Yeah I was voted Most Likely to Succeed lol...I think I am a little successful.

It is so fun to look back!

Have a great day!

Oh Hey Wednesday

This post is totally random but you know what that's okay every now and then. :)

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing my husband participate in a military ceremony. (He is 3rd from the left next to the blue guidon)  He is adorable! :)

Saturday I finally got Dairy Queen! I had been wanting it for days but we were always out way too late or too busy to go. Believe me this Oreo Brownie Earthquake was well worth the calories. Haha.

Sunday night we are going to this concert! Talk about another 90's flashback, we have seen Everclear and Eve 6 before so we know it will be a good concert.

I happily wore my 4th of July jamberry nails this weekend. I seriously love these, way better than nail polish for me.

I am buying this race bib belt on Friday. I am tired of pinning the bibs to my shirts and putting holes in them. Can't wait to test it out at our race Saturday night.

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday!!!

4 Months

As I was talking to Kyle's brigade commander (and soon to be boss at Polk) after his relinquishment of command ceremony, he made this comment to me, "See you in 4 months!" I am not joking you as soon as he said that a huge panic came over me. I am not sure how we are going to do it but we will haha. We have started a checklist of things to get done and so far it is helping.

*Sell couch (we have needed a new one for a while and this is the perfect chance). SOLD!!! A good friend of mine moving back to Bliss is buying it.

*Find a place to live in Louisiana. I am going to try and fly out there in September to meet with a rental agent and start looking at places off post.

*Go through the garage and throw out/sell things we don't need. Done! It feels so good to have that done.

*Find a new vet for Emma and Fishy. I am extremely picky especially because of Emma's epilepsy.

*Cancel gym membership, I kid you not we have not been there in a few months haha. I run daily and do not need it anymore.

*Find a cleaning company to deep clean the house. I know this sounds trivial but I know it needs to happen.

*Sell the house! Haha this is a no brainer, it officially goes on the market today, so fingers crossed.

Happy a great day!!

Long Weekend

We have had a great holiday weekend! It started out Thursday night with us running the Electric 5k in Las Cruces. It was so cool, we ran right before the electric light parade and it was packed with people.

Friday morning we got up bright and early to the run a 4th of July 5k. It was incredibly hilly but so fun. I even got to meet a fellow blogger friend, Amy. :)

Friday evening we went to Pop Goes the Fort on post and had a fantastic time! The 1st Armored Division band played as well as the El Paso Symphony (which at one point the commanding general conducted lol). The fireworks were spectacular!!! Far better than we both expected.

Saturday and Sunday were spent getting rid of excess stuff that we don't need. Kyle made a trip to a dumpster and we easily got rid of over a thousand pounds of stuff.

Today will be spent relaxing for the most part. I start 3 new classes today so it should be interesting.

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
