Halloween Recap

As usual we had a blast celebrating Halloween yesterday! Most of the day I was at Kyle's work. The FRG was having a chili fundraiser and the company was having a costume contest. The contest was amazing!! Every soldier in the company was dressed up and they did a parade of costumes before winners were announced. Kyle had the battalion and brigade commanders come down to be guest judges. It was really awesome seeing all these soldiers who work so hard have a few laughs and be silly.

Our Halloween tradition is to sit outside with Emma (we put her in her seal costume) and pass out candy. It's much easier than answering the door every time the doorbell rings. Britt came over as well and we had a blast!!

This is what happens when you spend Halloween with us. You end up hysterically laughing on the ground. This was taken after Kyle finished making chewbacca noises. Haha. We were all cracking up.

We ended up getting rid of almost all of our candy, thank goodness! Now I won't be tempted by the laffy taffy staring me in the face haha.

I hope you all had a great Halloween!

  3. I really miss having trick-or-treaters! I live in a co-op in NYC, so we don't have kids knocking on doors up and down stairs. They go to the local businesses on the streets and avenues to trick-or-treat. So, I got to see lots of little ones dressed up walking home from work, but that's it!

  5. Looks like such a fun time. It rained here in NJ but was still so much fun. Kids haven't had a Halloween here in 2 years after a freak storm and hurricane Sandy so they came out in full force.

  9. How cute is Emma?! I went to my parents to pass out candy and we sat in the driveway and had so much fun. It pretty much did nothing for my ever growing baby fever, lol!

  15. We have a ton of candy left. Our installation does trunk or treat the weekend before and it just cuts our kids to half if not a quarter of what we'd normally get. So to hide the candy from eyesight it is now in the cookie jars of which I don't go into.

  16. Lucky you! Can you believe that not a single trick-or-treater came to our home? We not only have all of your candy left but also a ton of candy that the girls collected. Seemed like you had a busy but fun day!

  20. We don't do anything for Hallowe'en. But we pulled my recliner over by Phil's and we watched Young Frankstein movie. It's a classic and so funny and enjoy it every year. This year we watched some of the scenes that were deleted which were funny and some would have been better to have been in the movie, esp. since left out the reading of the will that would have made the first part of the movie a bit more meaningful. We now have the dvd version and got to see other scenes. Glad you all had a good time! Hugs!

  24. HI JEN!!!! Happy belated Halloween. I know it is so late. I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to read your blog in a while so I just went and read every single post from the past week. My favorite part is your ANIMALS. My oh my they are so sweet. Fishy is such an adorable name for something that doesn't even live in the water! :) I hope you have a great Sunday evening, who can't complain with gaining an hour?!

  26. You're a laffy taffy girl too? I love that stuff! Especially the yellow! My kids wound up with some chocolate laffy taffy this year. I had never seen it before, and I couldn't quite bring myself to try it.
