Another long weekend has come to a close...I feel like it was a perfect balance of relaxing and running around.
Friday we had planned to head back out to Hueco Tanks to hike instead we both decided to work on stuff around the house. We cleaned out some closets, went shopping for some storage cabinets, and enjoyed a quiet night at home. Speaking of Hueco Tanks, we got a small glimpse at our photos:
We are in love with them so far!!!!! :) Can't wait to see the rest.
Saturday, we got up bright and early for the Desert Dash 10k. It was held in Las Cruces at the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Park. It was gorgeous!! It was a true trail race and my legs are hating me because of it. We had a great time though.
Sunday, we headed off to White Sands National Monument. It's only an hour away from us and well worth the drive. When you first see the dunes it seems like you are looking at snow. It is so white and beautiful. You can go sledding as well as camp, we have plans to do both on our next trip. We ended the trip with lunch at an amazing hole in the wall mexican restaurant.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!!

ReplyDeleteLove your couple photos you had taken. Aw, the white gypsum sands. I remember it well. I kinda miss a few things from NM. That's one of them! It's cool here and fog off and on, mixed with road work in town that's gonna last for a few years.....sigh! I'll deal with the fog! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteI love that y'all run together! My husband tries to beat every other guy on the course when he races. Haha! Although, in all fairness, we did run our first marathon together every step of the way.
ReplyDeleteWhite Sands is one of my favorite local-ish places! We camped there, which was awesome! But that was during the summer (so hot!!), so I'm thinking the fall is probably a more enjoyable time to visit.
