Let It Grow

I mentioned at the end of my post yesterday that Kyle and I had plans for a garden. We have talked about it for years but usually have a tendency to kill plants haha. We bit the bullet yesterday and went to home depot for supplies. We got a raised cedar garden bed and seeds to plant. I also found an awesome herb garden to plant as well.

Thankfully all of the vegetables we got need full sun so it works out perfectly. We planted: carrots, spinach, broccoli, onions, cucumbers and green beans. Fingers crossed they grow!

Here is the herb garden I got:

Thankfully this one can be kept inside near a window. I planted: basil, chives, oregano, parsley and cilantro.
Hopefully in a few months we will have some fresh veggies and in a few weeks some fresh herbs. It was a fun day.

Hope you all are having a great day!

  1. I can't keep plants or flowers alive for nothing. I told my hubby to not even bother buying me flowers anymore just because I kill them so fast. Same goes for fish, I just can't do it :/ it's not intentional I swear :)

  15. I love your gardens!! That's one of my goals one of these years, to plant a garden...it's kind of hard to grow things here, but there are some things that do well. ANYTHING would be nice, since produce is so expensive here! Even if it's just potatoes or something, haha!

  17. Every year, but this one since we are PCSing this summer, I've had a garden. Usually I start my seeds during lent and by the time the last freeze is gone I have seedlings ready to plant outside.

Hope your garden grows well this year. Can't wait to see pictures of the progress.

  28. I've always wanted to grow a herb garden and even a vegetable garden, but the heat in this place makes it nearly impossible. also, it doesn't help that Brownie will destroy and eat anything and everything.
can't wait to see how everything looks when its starts growing!

  29. This is the first time I have ever had a garden and it is so great to have fresh herbs at your disposal! It's also so cool to watch everything grow!

  30. I have had a garden bed for the last couple of years. I've always used plant starts from the Farmer's market instead of seed. I'm not very good at gardening, so seeds seem to difficult for me.
