It just so happens that the 2nd week of Kyle's block leave this summer falls on our 5th wedding anniversary. He will be in a class the 1st week so going anywhere for the whole time is out. We finally came to a decision as to where we want to go for at least a few days. We are going to San Antonio! We have plans to go to these 2 places while we are there:
Thanks to the Hero's Salute we were able to get 2 free tickets.
Sclitterbahn is an awesome water park in New Braunfels, which is about 30 minutes from San Antonio.
I'm excited to get away for a few days, it is much needed for both of us. It will be fun to explore the area and see other parts of Texas. I am taking advantage of our time together because he will be knee deep in training after block leave gearing up for the dreaded "D".
Do you all have plans for the summer?!
Happy Tuesday!
I went to the SeaWorld in Ohio when I was really little. It closed down now but I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI don't like swimming so a water park would be out for me. LOL.
Hopefully, by the time his deployment rolls around it'll get canceled!
How exciting! :) I am not a swimming park kind of person, but Seaworld looks great! :D
ReplyDeleteWe love Seaworld! Talk about great timing to have an Anniversary! Ha ha
ReplyDeleteOh how fun!!! I am dying to go to Sea World! :)
ReplyDeleteThat water park looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI've heard Schlitterbahn is awesome! It's the number one water park in the US.
ReplyDeleteAwe that's awesome! have a good time dear!

I live in San Antonio right now (I'm actually only a mile from Sea World). If you are looking for any good places to eat, visit, etc., let me know! There are so many fun things to do here!
ReplyDeleteoooh, yall will have SO much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteNo definite plans, we're still thinking over here.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Sea World. I know you'll have fun, and hurrah on exploring more of the state. :)
That'll be so fun! I love going to water parks. No real plans for this summer but we're still going to try to get away from the city for a weekend at least. We might go to D's unit's Strong Bonds marriage retreat if we're allowed to bring a two month old.
ReplyDeleteI love San Antonio! I went to Schlitterbahn years ago and loved it. The water was cold though! Sounds like a fantastic way to spend block leave before the impending deployment.
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait!! :) We were searching hotels last night. :)
DeleteThat looks so fun!! We were planning to go to San Diego, but you know how things are going with our unit :/
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to go at some point. San Diego is amazing, I love it there.
DeleteSo glad you guys get a great anniversary trip! We went to San Antonio our first summer here and went to Sea World and Six Flags, it was awesome! Have a great time!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Gaby! I'm excited, it will be a nice getaway.
DeleteThat's exciting! We did SeaWorld Orlando a couple years ago and last night we gave our son the option of having a pirate pool party or going to SeaWorld in San Antonio (small world!) with a friend of his choice (so long as said friend's parents approve)and he, naturally picked SeaWorld so we'll be there the end-ish of June
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! I bet that water will feel AMAZING this summer!
ReplyDeleteI loved the German food in New Braunfels. Sure it wasn't like when I was in Germany but it is much better than most I've had here in the State. Have fun on your trip.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are always doing SO MUCH. How fun!
ReplyDeleteThat water park sounds like a blast ... you two are so cute. Always adventurous!

San Antonio is a fun city. I have been a few times since it is a few hours away. Sea World was great. There are a lot of great places to eat there as well.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go to Schlitterbahn, but haven't made it there yet.
Definitely post pictures. I love Sea World! We've already done our big trips this year, but we might squeeze in a trip to Nashville and Portland for the hubster's Birthday.
ReplyDeleteThis would be so much fun! Going to a water park with my husband was such a blast. I didn't know if I would like it when I wasn't a kid, but I totally did!

O no! I didnt realize Kyle was deploying :( Glad you are taking advantage of the time until then!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have fun during your trip! I'm personally not a big fan on San Antonio, but there are definitely nice spots. Try to check out the natural caverns there, and maybe the gift shops at Greene, or go rafting! Enjoy yourselves (and don't eat at the food court at the Mercado, if you want to spend your vacation anywhere else than the bathroom!!)
ReplyDeleteI saw a website about the caverns we might check it out. :)
DeleteHave I mentioned that I'm jealous about you going to Schlitterbahn!? ;-) I think it's awesome that Sea World offers free tickets too! I'm going to have to utilize it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'm so excited. I had no idea they did free tickets until someone told me. I think it's pretty cool.
DeleteHow fabulous! Wishing you the best on your anniversary trip! :) I know you will have a blast!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachael! I'm really excited.
DeleteSounds like fun. We love Sea World San Diego! Im sure San Antonio will be awesome as well.
ReplyDeleteYay! What a fantastic anniversary plan!! I hope you guys have a wonderful time and enjoy your time together!
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to go to that water park for so long! We love water parks, so I am officially jealous. One piece of warning: both of you should leave your rings at home when you go. We went to a water park on our honeymoon and my husband LOST his wedding band in the lazy river. ON OUR HONEYMOON.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time! Sidenote: My hubs proposed to me in Sea World in the dolphin viewing area in FL. I love dolphins so it was perfect.
ReplyDeleteglad you guys will be able to get in a little trip together!
ReplyDeleteThat water park looks so fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be so fun! Five years sounds like such a great anniversary to celebrate. I can't wait ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh this is going to be so much fun! Looks like it will be blast :) HAVE FUN!
