What I'm Looking Forward To

As the month of August is winding down I have begun to compile a list of things that I am looking forward to in the coming months. I love doing this because it reminds me to plan and make it a point to live in the moment.

Here is what I am looking forward:

1. Obviously, #1 is the birth of Emersyn haha. I am scheduled to be induced on 8/31 if she has not arrived before then. :)

2. Fall weather! While we don't get a true winter here in Central Louisiana, I still have the chance to wear sweaters and boots so I'm happy (I am wishing away summer because 90+ degree temperatures with 100% humidity gets old after a while). I am ready for the leaves to changes and to have that crisp air.

3. I can't wait to take Emersyn to her first pumpkin patch, ride her first hayride, first Halloween, her first visit with Santa, tree lighting, etc. I know she will be really little but all these firsts are exciting.

4. Starting school again on October 3rd. I mentioned to Kyle last night that I actually miss it and it was weird not starting with everyone else a few weeks ago. He will begin his final grad school class at the same time which is very exciting!

5. Spending lots of time with family. Since we are looking at a likely June 2017 move I want to spend time with family when we can.

6. Our races we have lined up for the rest of the year which include six 5k's and 2 half marathons ( I am stoked that my sister will be running her 1st half marathon with us!!!). Speaking of races, I normally don't wear my wedding rings when I run because I'm afraid of them slipping off so I ordered these silicone rings from amazon. I'm excited to test them out.

7. Settling into our new routine as a family of 5 (yes Emma and Fishy count). It's going to be pretty amazing.

8. Finding out if Kyle made the promotion list and the location of our new home. We know we likely won't find out until December but man we are anxious haha.

What are you looking forward to?

Have a great weekend!

  4. I can't wait to see Emersyn! I'm so excited for you. Also, let me know how you like those rings. I never work out with mine on because of the same reason but I've been interested in getting something like those.

  5. Aw yeah!! You've got so many firsts coming! I was born in September so my mom did all those things too. PS I screamed at Santa the whole time!! Found him terrifying. On the other hand, I laughed during Halloween!

  8. So many things to look forward to! So not long until Emersyn is here. Good luck to Kyle with his promotion, and can you send some of your summer my way? We've not really had one here and unlike you I'm dreading the arrival of autumn because that means our chances of some sun have well and truly vanished!

  12. Wow, 100% humidity I couldn't imagine. I am anxiously awaiting fall weather after dealing with 75% humidity. I can't handle this southern heat :( It will be nice to experience the fall season in NC. I'm looking forward to school starting, getting involved in some volunteer opportunities, and traveling around the area.

  14. I love red leaves in the fall. We don't get many of those (mostly yellow) in this part of CO.
Scott is wearing silicone bands now, since he lost his ring, found it, but doesn't want to put it back on and risk that again.
I hope Emersyn comes on her own, sooner rather than later!

  17. If you make it to the day you are induced, your daughter and one of my son's will have birthdays that are one day apart from each other. :)

  18. We love our Qalo rings! They're the best for working out and I often just keep them on throughout the day, because they're just so convenient. I will warn you though that they are pretty tight at first, but stretch comfortably after some wear :)

  21. I'm really looking forward to the fall weather too! I'm so over the hot weather, but I'm also really looking forward to all of the fall activities too! I bet Emersyn is going to love her first visit to the pumpkin patch!

  22. It is exciting that you are a week away!

I am with you on this summer weather. I am done. I need fall weather and soon. Which brand of rings are those? I don't run with my wedding ring because I don't want to lose it, and then my fingers swell so bad that it hurts. I am wondering if the non-metal rings would feel a bit better with swollen fingers.

  23. Great list and many or those are also on my list of things I am looking forward to. Fingers and toes crossed for the same location in June 2017!
