Never Forget

I can't believe that it has been 12 years since our country was changed forever. Having a husband who serves in the military and has deployed overseas make it's incredibly personal for me and so many others. We will never forget those who lost their lives that day. We will never forget those brave men and women who lost their lives defending our freedoms. We will always support and love their families.

Early last year Kyle and I had the honor and privilege of visiting the 9/11 Memorial in NYC. What a humbling experience, feeling the emotion that filled that space is an experience I will never forget.

Please take a moment today and remember all those we lost and all those who are still fighting for our freedom.

  1. Beautiful! It's kind of sad I thought I'd wake up today to a million posts on 9/11. Yours is the only one. I will never forget and will always remember.

  3. I haven't gotten to see the memorial but we went to the church that provided a safe haven to the fire fighters and other service members. It was truly remarkable. I'm getting tears just thinking about it. Thanks for the great post.

  4. I visited Ground Zero in October 2002. Even though I was only 10, I'll never forget the feeling of seeing a place where our nation was changed forever.

I thought more bloggers would remember 9/11, but so far, I've only seen 3. It's sad that so many people have forgotten about the significance of today.

  5. We wet to ground zero in 2008 and they had just begun this memorial. They had a temporary exhibit and it was just so very hard not to do an ugly cry while going through it. Can't wait to go back and see the final memorial someday!

  9. Every year on this day I can vividly remember the morning I woke up to this tragedy in Vegas! Never thinking I would marry a man in uniform and the events that day would effect our lives so deeply. Thank you to you and Kyle for continuing to fight this fight!!

  14. I still remember this day, my first thought was: bummer, I wanted to visit this building. A friend of mine had been to NY only the year before and told me all about it. I'Ve been to many memorials of wars and other catastrophes, and they are all so powerful. It sometimes feels as if there were still their air around in those places..

  15. We didn't get to visit Ground Zero when we were there three years ago because of the weather. But definitely something I would love to do some day.
One of my blogging buddies had a beautiful post today about 9/11 and making sure we tell people that we love that we love them. So true.
    So .. I love you!

  17. We were there earlier this year also. It's such a surreal experience. Being there was so calming, considering all of the destruction that happened a little over a decade prior.
