So I take back what I said about loving the rain. I love it in moderation...not this crazy all day flooding rain we have been getting. These 3 pictures are what my backyard looked like yesterday and it got worse. El Paso hasn't seen this much rain in a few years, many roads were closed due to flooding and the road over the mountain to the West side was closed due to a rock slide. I did venture out to head to the doctor but that was it, I didn't want to take my chances in this weather.
I do have some pretty awesome news to share. For the last year or so Kyle and I have been diligently working on paying off debt. We are only a month and a half away from having our only debt be the mortgage on our house! No car payments and no credit card debt. It is such a good feeling and I'm really proud of us for sticking to the budget that we set for ourselves.
We have 2 runs this weekend that I hope my doctor will be ok with me participating in. One is a German American run on post and the other is The Color Run (this one I can walk if she says no). Fingers crossed that I get the go ahead!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Wow that's some crazy rain! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being debt free! I can't wait until I can say the same thing.
ReplyDeleteOh my, stay safe!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting your debt paid off, that is fantastic!
I cross my fingers that you can participate this weekend.
Hugs
I hope she gives you the ok... running is such good therapy!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome news! I can't wait to be debt free! I really hope you get the okay for the runs!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can participate in the runs!
ReplyDeleteI like rain too, but not TOO much rain.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on getting the go-ahead on your runs. And high five, no TWO BIG high fives for getting the debt gone, I bet that does feel fan-tas-tic!
Have fun this weekend!! oohh, yayy for debt being GONE!
ReplyDeleteAwe my gosh! That's awesome about your debt. I'm hoping to get to that point soon. Within the next couple years. the husband has lots of student loans hanging over his head (and mine)

CONGRATULATIONS on being almost done with all your debt!! A mortgage doesn't really count...it's an investment. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeing debt free is such an amazing feeling!!! Way to go!!! I hope you're able to run! I've always wanted to do a color run. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThat rain makes it look like you're here in Portland. ;-) And YAY for almost no debt. I'm sure that's a fabulous feeling. It will be years before Nate and I are out from under our college debt but I'm so excited for that day!
ReplyDeleteHoly rain! Glad you got the finances in check. We're going through that now and it's such a great feeling to see those numbers get smaller and smaller! :)
ReplyDeleteAh we have had rain like that before. It is great the first day, but after that it's just depressing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting debt free! I wish we could become debt free, but I don't see that happening for awhile.
Ohhh the color run, I would love to do one of those. Hopefully your doctor will let you run.
Wow, I had no idea you guys were having so much rain! I agree with you too. Rain in moderation. I don't think I could live in a place like Seattle without getting depressed. And congratulations on driving down the debt!! Great feeling of freedom! Yay, you. Not an easy task to accomplish!
ReplyDeleteYeah it is starting to get depressing here and I'm hating it haha.
DeleteCongrats on paying off debt! That's so awesome, Jen!
ReplyDeleteI have a run tomorrow as well. I hope you can participate, but take it easy and try to get some rest.
We had this kind of rain today, too. Sucks, when it' exactly the time when I head out for the bus.
After a week of not reading blogs, I just read all of your posts this week from Disney movies ( I have every single one too!!) to your paying off debt, the possibility of a color run, epic rain and also some sad news too. You are the strongest woman, dearest Jen, and my prayers for strength are with you! Sending you hugs and I hope your weekend brings you some joy. Enjoy your HUBBY! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do a run. I just want someone to find it for me, sign me up, get me there, and I'll do the running. So lazy...
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
The rain has been pretty crazy here in Utah also. I have enjoyed it though. I love your backyard!! It is great paying off debt, so happy for you. Good luck with the doctors, let us know how it goes! xo
ReplyDeleteWe are flooding too! Craziness.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on paying off that debt!!! And i hope you got to do your runs!
ReplyDeleteWow! I bet that area definitely isn't use to all that rain! Hope you were able to do your runs this weekend!
ReplyDeleteJen!! That is so great. Way to go girl! Crossing my fingers for your doctors appointment :) :)
ReplyDeleteYay for no debt! What a relief! :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!! Debt is such a crushing burden and I thrilled for you both that the weight will shortly be lifted off of you!

I want it to rain here, but then again I don't because then I feel like our house will never be built. Rain just sounds nice lately.
ReplyDeletePaying off debt is an awesome feeling. Good for you guys!! That will be so nice to have no car or credit card payments.
