Me Time!

I always have the worst time finding a good nail place (it's one of the worst things about moving all the time). I came across a place on FB and decided to try it out. It is a salon and spa which is already a win in my book.

Kyle has been telling me to go get a manicure/pedicure so I finally did. I had the best pedicure and love how my acrylics turned out. I can't just have my nails painted or else I will chew them, yes I know that is a bad habit. I opted for black with a purple accent nail, I love how they turned out.

Before I left I made an appointment to get my hair cut, I figured it was worth a shot to see how they could compare to the other place I went. I'm sold! I love how my hair turned out, most salons won't thin out your hair correctly and my stylist did an amazing job.

It was nice to have some me time and feel human again! I will definitely be getting pedicures on a regular basis now. :)

Do you make time for yourself?

Happy Thursday!

  1. Love the new hair! And finding a salon is always a bother. I normally get my nails done if we have a ball (so like once a year), and it still is a hassle to find a new place.

  3. My me time is normally a massage and I found a spa down here that I love. Best massages ever. Your hair and nails look amazing. It's always the best feeling leaving a salon after a good haircut! xo

  8. Your hair looks AMAZING!!! I wish I could find a good place here, I have been to a couple and they have not been good. That is why I am so hesitant to try another place. But I love that you found a couple good places to get some quality me time in, you deserve it!!

  9. Andy is already talking about how he's going to miss the little Filipino old lady who cuts his hair down at Polk when he moves to Knox... I've somehow gotten volunteered to cut his hair which is either going to be really fun or really awful.

  10. LOVE your nails! This PCS turned me back into a nail biter after years of being on the wagon. :( I'm waiting till my sister's wedding and getting acrylic put back on, then I'm going to try and keep it up. I hate biting my nails but like you say, it's the only way I know how to stop it.

  12. Jen- I know just what place you are talking about and I am so glad you had a good experience. I never did and tried them so many times!!

Bailey- Sandy's? We loved her! She always told us to call her Mama, haha her and the lady that runs the oriental wok? off main gate. Love both those ladies and have not found anyone to compare to them.

    2. Oh my gosh, no! That's new since I was there. I totally thought you were talking about the French Quarter salon. I tried that place so many times and every time was terrible, save for one, right before we moved there was a guy and he worked some sort of southern magic and my hair was perfect.

    3. I've heard mixed reviews about that place so I was hesitant to try it.

  13. Your hair looks fabulous!

I try to make sure I have time for me. It takes a bit for me to get my hair done though.

  16. Nice hair style....looks goid on you. I have been hard on myself lately but tonight it's trim toenail time and take off nail polish. New in tomorrow. I don't like trimming them but it's necessary. What really need is a whole body massage. Sigh!

  17. Monthly pedicures and acrylic fills for me! It's my favorite time! I'm like you, I'll chew my nails without the protection on them.

  18. You're hair turned out so darling! I hate trying to find a new stylist when we move; that first haircut I'm always holding my breath no matter how many yelp reviews I've read...

  19. first off I am in love with your hair! I completely agree that very few know how to thin out hair properly. It's hard to take time for myself even before Bear but now I feel it's super important. It helps me feel like me again if you know what I mean.
