While He Is Away

Kyle has been in San Antonio since Sunday for a medical appointment but will be home this afternoon. The one good thing about him having a blackberry for work is that he got an email from his branch that everything is being pushed through for our PCS to Polk, we should have an RFO (request for orders) by next week!!!

Usually when he is gone I tend to clean a little bit more and get more little things done around the house. With visitors coming this weekend I am in overdrive to get everything taken care of.

I was even nice enough to wash his car. Now I love my husband but his car was a mess haha. I think I filled up 1 large trash bag, thank goodness it is plastic on the inside so I can just wipe it out.

He has needed an end table for his man cave and I found this gem at Walmart. It's actually a recliner end table, score!!

Emma and Fishy decided that they both wanted to be on the loveseat with me...they seem to forget that there is another couch in the house haha. I think they miss their Daddy and want me to not be working on my research paper for school.

  1. Cleaning his car while he's gone...now that's a good wife.
Isn't it nice how one small piece of furniture can make such a difference :) The recliner end table looks good!

  2. Ugh, just thinking about cleaning out our car after J has been using it for only a week is scary. I know each time he leaves for training I have to pull out a garbage bag and hope I survive!

  3. I get in mad cleaning mode too when the man is out of the house. That's when I do my best work! And he knows it too .. he knows to be scarce during those times. LOL

  4. Yay! That's so exciting! It must be such a relief knowing where you're going. My husband has family at Polk and my mom lives a couple hours north of there. :)

  6. You are so sweet!! Wife of the year, I wouldn't touch Chris's car with a ten foot pole and gloves! haha. The man lives out of that thing, I would be afraid something died under all the gear and food wrappers. haha!

  7. Ugh, my husband's car is always disgusting. It needs a good cleaning but I need to find a gas mask first! ;)

  8. The only times I've cleaned Mac's car were as welcome home "gifts" during his last deployment. I guess I need to clean it this time around since I've been using it all the time, haha.

  9. glad to hear that the PCS is being pushed through fast. Now you'll be running more than ever and not on a course, well, sort of! Hope it all goes well for you and hope ya didn't through out anything from Kyle's car that he needed to keep! Tee Hee! My husband has games in the back so when we have to go places and need trunk space it's usually mine that goes with us!

  10. I used to clean my husband's truck when he was gone too! It was always a wreck, I would just park it next to the dumpster at our apartment complex and toss pretty much everything. Now that we share a car, he's learned to clean up after himself.

  11. Wow, Ft. Polk, huh?! Are you looking forward to the move itself, or the location, too? I've never been down that way, so I'd have no idea what to expect. Regardless, I hope you guys are excited!!

  12. I always get more done around the house with my husband gone. It feels good to get everything put away and cleaned and get to those little projects that I keep putting off because I would rather be spending time with him and the kids.
