Monday Already?!

How many here hate going to the doctor? I absolutely dread it especially on a Monday morning. Today is my first appointment with my new primary care doctor. I always worry about the first appointment especially being in the situation with fertility issues like I am. I always worry that they aren't going to take my concerns seriously. I'm not sure if they have my records from Bragg yet, I really hope they do because it will help tremendously. I also have never had a male doctor, not that I have anything against them it will just be different.

This weekend went by far too quickly for my liking. We did have fun though. We went to the Las Cruces Farmer's Market on Saturday morning with another couple and their son (we picked up some amazing bread), had a date night which included dinner at Wing Daddy's and dessert at Orange Leaf (a self serve frozen yogurt place). Kyle's aunt and uncle came to see us yesterday, they spend their winters on the west coast to get out of the cold of PA. It was great to see them since we rarely have the opportunity.

I also decided that I'm going to start running. I would run every now and then with Kyle but always made an excuse not to do it. I'm going to start out small and just keep building up my endurance.

Haha this is very much me.

Here's to a new adventure!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

  1. I'm the opposite. I go to the Doctor for every little thing. I hope that your appointment goes well. I know that things will go smooth if your records have been transferred already. Best wishes!

  2. Oh man, I hate the doctor too! I finally made an appointment for next week though--first time in forever. And first time at a mil doc in YEARS. Glad you had a nice weekend! And I'd totally run embarrassingly short distances with you if we were in the same place. ;)

  3. Good luck with the running! I have tried to start running as well. I went on day last week, and found a reason to skip it the rest of the days. :)

  6. Good luck with your doctor, and the running! I can't wait until it gets warm enough here to start running again.

  8. Definitely needing to add more running into my routine during the week. I gained a pound after killing myself last week. Ugh...
    WTF?

Good luck with the doctor. I hope you get a good one!

  11. Do they automatically transfer records for you?? That would be fabulous!
I keep telling myself that I want to start running, but I know I'd only make it an embarrassingly short distance.
Hope the doc went well & you have a good week.

  12. Hi Jen,

I am in a very emotional state right now. I have deleted my blog “The Simple Life of Hope”. My father-in-law died nearly two weeks ago, and the following weekend, I found out that my father has leukemia and was told that he had 2 weeks to 3 months to live.

I would like to keep in touch with you, and I will probably even begin a new blog, eventually. I just wanted to let you know what’s going on with me.

    ♥Hope

  13. What is the difference between regular doctors and military doctors? I'm engaged at the moment and wondering what the difference is for when I switch? And is this Las Cruces as in New Mexico. Because that's a lovely place.

    1. Yup Las Cruces, New Mexico! :) It was awesome. As far as the difference you are assigned a clinic at the military base then assigned a doctor. You can always choose to be seen off post. It's really not that bad but it's hard to get referrals to special doctors. I don't mind it at all.

  14. I always wanted to be a dr. and was even pre-med in college. Then life took over. As much as I love medicine, I hate going to the dr! Just something about it I don't really care for.

Sounds like you had a great weekend! But I agree, it went by way too quickly for my taste, too.

  15. I HATE going to the doctor. Good luck with your new doc!

Haha I am the same way about running. I want to run a 5k but I have to start running first. Which means I'll be running embarrassingly short distances for a long time! Good luck running! :)

  16. I think I'll print that little sign out and hang it on my wall. Or print it on a shirt. It's basically the story of my life. ;)

  20. I hope your doctor's appointment went well! I hardly ever went to the doctor until we discovered our own infertility issues. I hope that you love your new doctor and that he is understanding and supportive.

  21. Good luck running! Your photo at the end fits me to a "T". I hate it so much I have resorted to dancing to a Wii game when Joe leaves every morning. It's quite embarrassing but the only thing I have been able to stick with! lol! Anyways...glad you had a good weekend. They always go by too fast!

  22. I always wonder if my doctor is taking me seriously. Maybe that is a sign that I should get a new one. Ha!

Good luck with running! I have had a lot of success with the Couch to 5K program. Check it out!

  23. Liam had a doctors appointment this morning, too. It was pretty unnecessary if you ask me (a hip ultrasound since we was breech) and everything came back normal, so I wish I could have stayed in bed. LOL. Good luck with running. I feel the same way about running embarrassingly short distances. I need to build my endurance, too!

  24. Hopefully your doc visit went well! I know think or two about medical stuff, thanks to the years I spent in the med school before deciding to stick with different field of science….. and I am not very fond of seeing doc myself. There really has to be something seriously wrong if I need to see the doc ….. :)

Good luck with running! You are gonna love it. It is super fun, and addictive! Just start it by being consistent, and run at least 2-3 times a week.

    1. I actually don't mind a male doctor. My last primary care doctor was female and I did not like her.

  26. If we were together we could attempt embarrassingly short distances. I'm thinking 1/2 mile per day. Lol

  27. Good luck on your running! I'm trying to become a runner, too... and I always can find an excuse not to do it. It's just so hard to get started when you aren't a runner. But I know you can do it!!
