Last night, Kyle and I were farewelled from his
current unit. A lot of the original team that was here when we got here is
almost all gone so it is a good time to transition and move on.
He will still be with them through the end of
the month but then it is off to his new job. It will be a welcome change after 12
months of being in the field for 2 1/2 weeks per month. He will still work long
days but he will get to come home at night.
He has been given a lot of plaques through his
almost 9 year career but this one is by far my favorite. Each of the tiny
posters in the middle represent each of the rotations that he has been a part
of. (We will ignore the fact that the year and type of airborne wings is wrong lol, our friend is going to fix it.)
We will definitely miss the people he works
with but thankfully he will get to still interact with some of them on a daily
basis.
Here is to the next adventure!
I always love farewell gifts, and the thought put into them. I don't think John has any plaques like this, but he's certainly received some unique gifts. Yay for nights at home!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a cool plaque! And best of luck to Kyle in his next job..!
ReplyDeleteYay! You guys have so much to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kyle and you! Well done!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kyle! I'm glad he will be home more now especially as your pregnancy progresses. Which I'm sure he is happy about as well! Beautiful plaque!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear Kyle will get to be around more now, especially with a sweet baby on the way!
ReplyDeleteAwh congrats to Kyle!!! And heres to more amazing adventures to come :) Specifically, BABY!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool gift. And YAY you get to see your husband every night!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kyle! And awesome gift.
ReplyDeleteNights at home will be great! That is an awesome gift!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Kyle!
ReplyDeleteThat's nice that he'll be home nights, and hurrah for handy friends who can fix things. :)
ReplyDeleteHow awesome! Congrats to him! And I'm so glad his schedule sounds like it'll be better for you guys. :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool farewell plaque! C's gift from his last squadron got the year wrong too. But he's not really complaining because they weren't consistent on farewell gifts at that squadron and he's lucky the flight chief cared enough to make sure he got one.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great plaque! Chris got a super cool one from his last company with a blow up picture of him jumping, I was like wow how thoughtful!! And how exciting to be moving on to something else now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful plaque. It is a major benefit he will now be home at night, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThere are memories in the plaque. Thanks to Kyle for his service and I pray you both do well as he transitions to a different job on base. Nights at home are good!! :-}
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool one for sure! I love all the little details
ReplyDeleteI like the plaque! Mac should be getting a new one next month, and I'm curious to see how an infantry unit does them.
