Fall Is Here

*Thank goodness for scheduled posts.

Yesterday was the first day of fall and I couldn't be more excited! However, when you live in Louisiana fall is more than likely weather in the 70's but I am totally okay with that. I am ready for all things sweaters, scarves, and boots.

As a runner I am so thankful for the cooler temps especially with my marathon training beginning on October 1st. There are several things that I am looking forward to this fall. I have finally started putting together my list.

*Go to the Anderson Farms Pumpkin Patch. (My sister and the kids get to go with us!!)

* Fort Polk MWR Hay Ride, this is a free event and I know it will be fun.

*Angola Prison Rodeo. Please look this up, it's a rodeo actually held at a prison, the inmates make crafts to sell. It happens every Sunday in October.

*Chennault International Airshow. I haven't been to an airshow in ages so I am really looking forward to it.

*Dark Woods Haunted House, I am still somewhat on the fence about this but Kyle just may talk me into it.

*Trick or Treating with my sister and kids. I'll be in Florida for Halloween and I can't wait.

*Inglewood Fall Festival in Alexandria.

*Historic Rapides Cemetery Tour

*We also have a few races planned, which will pair nicely with cooler weather haha.

What are your plans for the fall?

  1. We have a sunflower field here that I am DYING to see! But other than that, it should be life as usual. Maybe some extra baking... (:

  6. I agree, I love fall. The colors, the crisp weather, the foods!! So far we have only made it to the Cider Mill, but we are thinking about a color tour up north and a corn maze. I always wanted to go to NOLA around Halloween though... never made it.

  10. Fall is such a short time here in Alaska, like this morning was 23 degrees, that kind of screams winter for me. So fall means picking out pumpkins in the snow. LOL

  11. It's been in the high 70's all week up here in the north. I'm certainly not complaining because it won't be long before we are looking at freezing weather. Wah!

  16. It's in the 70s in Oregon and right now it's raining, which we need so much. My list is Flock and Fiber festival with hubby and son/family. In Oct we go to Evergreen Air museum to celebrate our anniversary and dinner out. Then next day joining up with church group for a trip to Hood River and another museum...Phil wanted to go there as well even after we already had our plans made. Nov a trip to WA for a meeting and hopefully meeting up with my sis for a meal! Have a good weekend my friend!

  18. I think our fall is going to be warm too (it's been hotter so far than summer was!). However, it's such a nice change from the frigid fall weather in Japan that I am just soaking it up! But, of course, also baking because--well--pumpkin. ;)
