What's Up, Wednesday?!

I am finally in week 8 of my current classes!! I just have 2 forum responses and half of my final exam to finish and I'm done until next week when my final class begins. Woo! I am also trying to decide if I want to stick with my current plan of starting my Masters in October or put it off until January. Decisions, Decisions! Then there is the decision of finally going back to work (my goal is a school psychologist job) after finishing my Masters or going for my Doctorate (or both). Who would have thought that this girl would be interested in so much schooling haha.

Most of my nights look like this...lots of Chopped, lots of tea, and lots of school. I am ready for a break.

Lately I've been trying to find new recipes that I can incorporate into our daily lives, Kyle loves the Nature Valley Oatmeal breakfast bars and I decided to find a recipe to make our own. I found this recipe and they are to die for (oh and healthy!).

On Monday for Memorial Day, I ran my miles for the Wear Blue Run To Remember foundation and it was really awesome, there is nothing quite like being outside and alone with your thoughts that lets you reflect like that. As I was running I realized that Fort Polk doesn't have a local meetup for Wear Blue. After I got home I realized just how much that bothered me so I got online and submitted an inquiry about starting one here. I can't wait to hear back because I know for certain it would get a lot of interest here.

The next few weeks for us are going to be busy, between our trip to New Orleans, having our niece and nephew for a week, our anniversary, and then block leave. It's going to be crazy but awesome!!

Hope you all have a great day!

  3. Woohoo for only two more weeks, that is so exciting. You are a rockstar with all of your schooling lady, I am envious of your drive. I've wanted to go back to school for awhile but don't know if I could do it. I love chopped, it's such a great show, right?

Way to go on your run, I know your miles meant so much :)!

Also, I love how you ran for that organization on Memorial Day, and I hope they get back to you quickly about starting one there!

  6. Those oatmeal bars look amazing! Do you think they'd hold up well in a deployment care package? I'm always trying to find new things to add to my sister's boxes.

  9. How exciting to almost be done with your current classes and your degree! Good luck with your decision about masters/doctorate classes. I want to go back to get my mastering in nursing but would like to pay off my loans first. Plus, at the moment I don't really miss the studying and the work that accompanies the classes.

  12. It's so exciting that you're so close to being done with school! I just started back up a few weeks ago (currently in week 3 of my courses) and will have my B.A. in Communications August 2016. I already have the countdown going haha I'm so excited to be able to start my graduate program next year. Are you going to school for psychology?

    1. That is so awesome! It really is a good feeling to get it going again. :) I am going for Psychology, not sure it's such a good idea having two Psych majors in our house haha.

  13. That is exactly how I felt, after I got my bachelors I was like more school, give me all the schooling! Then I had kids, and my grad degree dreams have been put on hold. Womp womp....

  14. I did not realize that was a healthy breakfast bar. It looks amazing! I will have to make it. It probably has decent protein from the peanut butter. I went back for my masters but I'm definitely done with school. Good luck on those decisions! Estherdavison@gmail.com

  15. Wow,,,,classes. Glad you are getting close to a finish point. Life has so many decisions and I just would enjoy only working a day less than I do. But we can use the money and I will just keep up with life as it goes. My daughter signed up for two classes for summer session that will give a minor when she gets her degree, later this year. Had some math issues but hopefully gonna be ok. Some of it is difficult and university coming alongside her with solutions, which is nice. Granola bar looks yummy, will check it out. Have a good time in New Orleans. Are u at Fort Rucker?

  16. Hurrah for classes almost being done...! A little break is always good. Just charge right in with October classes since you're still in the schooling frame of mind! That's awesome that you decided to take charge and look into starting a local meetup for Wear Blue. You go, girl!

  19. Good luck with the end of the semester! The final stretch before graduation will be the most demotivated time in undergrad, haha.

  20. Yummy! From someone that put off their masters, then stopped took a break when almost done... I'd say push through while it is all still fresh in your mind. It will make the classes much easier. Those look so yummy!
