Memorial Day

Today we honor and remember all those that gave their lives in defense of this great country.

Honor and remember them in whatever way you feel, whether that is having a moment of silence or spending time with friends and family.

Today I will be honoring all those amazing heroes by committing 8.2 miles through the Wear Blue Run To Remember foundation. I know 8.2 miles sounds like an odd mileage but I am specifically running for all of the paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division that did not come home. Kyle spent the majority of his career so far in that division and we knew soldiers that did not come home, CPT Ed Chaffin and SPC David Hickman.

If you want to commit miles you can still do so through tomorrow morning.

All Gave Some, Some Gave All

  7. Enjoy your run in their honor, Jen. I usually reflect and meditate a lot while running, so may this race be your time to do so, my friend!

  11. I am so glad you pledged for Wear Blue- it is an awesome organization. We ran 3 miles for the 3 tours Kev has done and friends he lost along the way. I love your reasoning behind 8.2- what a great way to honor those soldiers.

  12. I walked thru a cemetary outside of town after work today. Looked for veterans who were buried there. Some as far back as Spanish-American war. Watched the US flags fly in the breeze that came and went. Photographed a few things as well. Thanks for running in honor of 82nd Airborne soldiers who died for a great cause. Have a good evening.
