Weekend Musings

Monday.....for once I don't mind that you have shown up again.

Can I just say how jealous I am seeing all of the graduation photos floating around social media! I graduate college in August and if I want to walk in a ceremony I have to wait until June 2016. If you were me would you walk in a ceremony 10 months after you graduate?! I would love to walk in the ceremony but I don't know if people would view it as pointless, then again I've never really cared what people think. ;)

I have picked a few more races to run this year to include the Pensacola Half Marathon and Houston Half Marathon. I also FINALLY picked my next marathon...New Orleans Rock and Roll Marathon 2/28/2016! I can't wait!

The coasters I made came out perfect!!! It's amazing what you can do with casting resin, fake flowers and scrapbook paper. I'll be posting a tutorial later this week. :)

I spent most of the weekend watching the live showing of the Rock on the Range concert that was happening in Columbus, Ohio. I am in desperate need of a live concert haha! That is the only thing that sucks about living in a smaller town, most concerts are 2-3 hours away and during the week. Boo!

The other half of the weekend was spent writing papers that are due next week. I have a 7 page art analysis paper due on Sunday and it has me a little stressed out. I know I'll get it done but my heart really isn't into it. Oh well. I'm roughly 3 months away from graduating so I just need to push through and get it all done.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

If you haven't entered my giveaway make sure you do! I'm announcing the winner tomorrow. :)

  1. I think you should 100% walk in graduation! You'll only get it one time, so make the most of it. YOU GO GIRL!

  2. I LOVE the way the coasters came out! I can not wait to read the post about how you made them and then maybe take a crack at them myself!

  3. Walk! If it's something you want to do its not pointless! That's a huge accomplishment, so I think you should go all out! :)

  5. I think if you WANT to walk in your graduation, you totally should! Graduating from college is a big deal, and you put a lot of hard work into it! That said, if it's not that important to actually go through the motions to you... then don't! I know some people who didn't walk even after doing the four years on campus, so I think it's all up to your thoughts. :)

Also, I love your coasters, and I'm jealous of the Rock n Roll marathon you are going to do!! I can't wait to hear all about it! That's one I'd like to do (not sure which city... but it'll be a long, long time before that day comes, lol). I also want to run the Paris Marathon someday! I didn't even know about it, and I recently saw photos, and my jaw dropped. You can see all the cool/major things in the city while running!!! And I think that's really cool. :)

  7. If you want to walk - go for it! :)

  8. they always have a pretty good July 4th concert on post. We haven't been able to for various reasons but I have always heard good things about it. Hmmm.... I think it all depends on what you want to do and where/what you are up to at the time you would be able to walk. As someone who sat in the rain for half my college graduation just to walk across the dang stage, I understand the desire to want to actually walk. So I'd say play it by ear and see whats going on at the time.

  11. I think walking is up to you. My sister Brandi didn't walk at her graduation, Brittany did only because we forced her to (and it was miserable-- she was cranky and grumpy and we have literally 2 photos of her from graduation hence no blog posts.) Meanwhile I wanted EVERYONE to know I was walking! Lol

  12. I love those coasters!! If I were you, I would definitely walk in the ceremony, even though it's so much later than your actual graduation. You did it, and you should feel all the glory :)

  16. If you want to walk at graduation you should! I walked at one but skipped the second. The coasters look great. Good job on signing up for a couple more races. I really want to sign up for my first ever half marathon but just haven't quite been able to make the commitment yet. I ran 8 miles the other day and thought to myself, can't believe I would have to run another 5 to do a half marathon. Totally a mind game, but I will get past it.

  19. Agreed! Definitely walk for graduation! I technically graduated in August too, but my school let me walk in June so it worked out! But it's one of those life moments you can't miss out on!

  22. Honestly, I'd totally walk! I am actually a little sad that despite holding two degrees I never got to walk in a ceremony. So if you have the chance, go ahead, even though it's late!

I love the coasters, they look beautiful!! Looking forward to the tutorial!

I hope you have the very best week, dear friend!
