This weekend we had another race. This time is the Fort Bliss 10 Miler in the Heat. We ran this race last year, it was actually my first official race that was a significant distance.
It started at 7am and to be honest it was perfect weather, it was overcast somewhat humid (it got worse as the race went on) and we even got a few sprinkles along the course.
I was happy with the pace that I was running at, I was not going in to break any records haha. I was keeping a slow and steady pace and still managed to best my time from last year by a few minutes so I was happy. After the race we had our traditional Starbucks which there happens to be one right across from the gym the race was held at.

We got home and showered then headed off to Las Cruces for the Tour de Beer festival. I am normally not a beer drinker but I did find a few that I enjoyed. We had a blast, we got our commemorative glasses, beer tickets and listened to live music. It was a great way to end the day.
You pack so many things into one weekend, haha. Glad y'all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome weekend! I'm not a beer drinker either, but there are always one or two that surprise me and I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! And those cinnamon rolls look so freaking good! :) Send me some? Maybe? haha
ReplyDeleteWe are also on the hunt for a new dining room table; there are like five I want, lol! Looks like you had a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose cinnamon rolls look delicious! I always say I will make my own, but then I never do.

ReplyDeleteWhen I get there we can go running together if you are up for it. :)
DeleteNeither running nor beer sound too enticing to me. Give me a fruity cocktail any day. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those cinnamon rolls look delicious. Have you ever shared the recipe? Glad you found a beer you like. My favorite is still Corona, which is heresy here in beer country :-) Congrats on finishing the race and even breaking your own time from last year! Have a great week, dear Jen!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to share the recipe! :) Thanks, I was really happy with how the race went. Makes me even more excited for 7 we have left. :)

ReplyDeleteWe have a high top in our dining room, and I so miss a traditional size. Hubby loves the high top though, so I don't say anything. ;)

I'm way behind on commenting, but I wanted to say one more time how much fun it was seeing you out there on the course! Glad y'all had fun!
