Well, it's official! We have a house!
On Friday as we were driving to Florida, our friend at Leavenworth got called that there was a home available for her to look at for us. She headed over to the house and we linked up on Facebook video chat so we could see it. We had heard that there were a few homes in this neighborhood that had hardwood floor, as soon as she opened the door we could see that this was one.
She walked us through the whole thing and it's beautiful!!! It is 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, with a partially finished basement, tons of closets/storage, and a fenced in backyard. Once we said yes, she headed back to housing and they told her they would email the documents to us so we could sign them. We virtually signed everything, paid the deposit, and everything was good to go! I received copies of our documents yesterday and they processed the payment. Woo hoo! We are so so grateful to our friend who was willing to do this for us. I hope I can return the favor for someone in the future.
This our new home and I couldn't be more excited!
Of course now that we have an address, it means ordering moving announcements. This is something that I always look forward to doing. I chose these ones, they are postcards which is awesome. Vistaprint never disappoints with their selection. I also ordered Emma and Fishy their new tags so I can switch them out once we arrive.
Here is to making the most of our time left in Louisiana!
How wonderful! I wish you all the best with the move.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteThat house looks so lovely! I'm so glad you found somewhere that suits you before you even arrive. How nice of your friends to help you out. I'm glad things are underway, good luck with the remains of the move!

ReplyDeleteI love that you got a house already! We have never had a place set up before we arrived to a new location. I would love to have it set up to avoid staying a hotel and waiting, and to get things done like change your address. I'm so excited for you!!
ReplyDeleteI wanna see pics of the house! You'll have to do a tour! I feel like we've been talking about these moves forever - I'm so excited it's finally here. I'll be thinking about you guys this weekend and next week!
ReplyDeleteI definitely plan on doing a tour of the house once we arrive! :) I can't believe both of our respective moves are here already. Sending lots of love to you and Riley as you make the journey back to Kansas! :)

ReplyDeleteThat is SO exciting! We're in such limbo right now, since Ryan's deployed, and he just dropped his packet for 160th. Our fingers are crossed for fun things ahead for us, too! <3
ReplyDeleteYay! What a blessing to have a house!! I can't imagine having to view it on Facebook Video, but what a Godsend your friend was. Wishing you luck in the next move with all of the transitions!

Thank you!!! :) I love unpacking too. It's fun getting settled in a new place.
DeleteAmazing technology that allows live video so many miles away. Looks like a nice house. It's on base? So happy for you and enjoy what's left of your time in Louisiana. We just got home from a trip to the coast for a few days. So fun. Now I need to unpack my clothes etc. Thankful to have Phil bring in 2 suitcases. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI never would have even thought about getting new dog tags! That's so smart!
ReplyDeleteWhat a huge relief! I hope these movers get their butts in gear now!
ReplyDeleteWhoot! It's awesome that a friend was able to do your walk-through. And I did find some cute Kansas-themed moving announcements if you haven't ordered those, yet.
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you all! Can't wait to see your new place.
