Am I the only one that does not enjoy Daylight Savings?! It's not because we have a baby either, she hasn't been affected by it at all. I hate it getting dark so early, we enjoy our nightly walks and if Kyle is home after 5pm then the walk won't happen now. Boo!
Anywho....we had another pretty fun and relatively low-key weekend.
We headed down to Lake Charles on Saturday for a 10k. This is the 3rd year I have run this race and it never disappoints, it is really flat and overall just a fun race plus it benefits the local college's track team. I was cursing the organizers at the start though because it runs right by a local donut shop haha. The smell was intoxicating. I felt good and am gaining my endurance back which is amazing, I will definitely need it when we run the Pensacola Half Marathon this weekend.
Sunday, Kyle spent the whole day working on his capstone paper so E and I headed to Alexandria to hit up the mall and Target. Not much at Target caught my eye (shocking I know) so we headed to the mall for me to look at dresses for our ball. I know what you're thinking, didn't she pick out a dress for the ball already?! Well, I did, but I realized that I wouldn't be 100% comfortable. I ended up at Dillard's and found this:
I am much happier with this choice, it is really comfortable and flattering which I am going for right now because my body has changed so much since having E. Oh and it has pockets hahaha! I can't wait to wear it. Confidence is key!
Overall, it was a really good weekend...now to just get through the rest of the week so we can head off to Florida for a long weekend.
Hope you all have a great day!
You look amazing and the dress is beautiful! Great choice! Oh, and I hate day light savings time too! It's just terrible!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you! :)
DeleteI love daylight savings but I think I am one of the only people I know that does. It just makes it easier for me to get up in the morning when its not pitch black out and much easier on my 13 year old not having to go to the bus stop when its dark. Love the dress!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that dress, so pretty! I hate the time change too. The sun set here yesterday at 4:27 in the afternoon and I wanted to cry! I'm already ready to spring forward in March! :)
ReplyDeleteOh geez I would have totally left the race to go get donuts.... Glad you have more willpower than me! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that dress on you! Comfort is definitely key!
ReplyDeleteI do miss the summer days where it wouldn't be dark until like 9 or even 10
ReplyDeleteYes! Me too!
DeleteI hate daylight savings. Like...yay, I don't have to drive to work in the pitch black, but it gets dark by 4:00 up here and I CANT STAND IT. I'm ready for bed by 6:00. We still go on walks, though - just in the dark (headlamps!). Otherwise we would never leave the house between November and March, haha.
ReplyDeleteGirl yes plus we are just going back to the same time when we move. I was like what's the point?? I like the dress! You look great so don't sweat it.
ReplyDeleteUgh!!! Time change is so pointless!
DeleteSeriously, I struggle with running so much, and you're running 10ks?! Love it! Love the new dress choice too!
ReplyDeleteThat new dress is so flattering! I feel like you can get so much good use out of it, too. FAB choice, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteI like that it's closer to being daylight when I wake up in the morning, but it getting dark so early is not fun.
ReplyDeletePockets really are the best thing ever when it comes to dresses! Why don't all dresses have pockets? I hate the fact that I get home and it's dark outside now. It just makes me feel all depressed!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous! I totally know what you mean with things being different when you actually get to put them on than how you visualised it. And any item of clothing with pockets is an instant win for me! I reckon you'll be able to wear that to so many occasions, so it's a smart buy really! Ha I'm such an enabler. Oh and daylight savings can seriously get stuffed - it's so miserable out now!
ReplyDeleteI hate daylight savings too! I love that dress on you! Pockets are the best for sure!
ReplyDeleteLoving that dress!!! and big win for pockets. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't like DLS either. The sun sets at 330! Unacceptable. Love the dress choice, anything pockets is a win in my book!
ReplyDeleteYes! Daylight savings is terrible! It's ruined our nightly walks as well.
ReplyDeleteCute dress and hooray for pockets!
I love that dress!
