Some Things

I have to say it does feel good to be back blogging! Here are some other happenings in our neck of the woods.

*I received my books for my next set of grad school classes! I start back on October 3rd and I cannot wait. I really never thought I would miss going to school. I know it's going to be a little bit more challenging now but I am ready for it, and still look forward to graduating in May.

*Kyle is running a mud run 5k this weekend and I'm super jealous haha, however I will be walking/jogging a 5k on the 24th and I can't wait. I won't be cleared to get back to my full running routine for a few more weeks but it will still be nice to get some physical activity happening.

*I have been working diligently on our budget and it really is starting to pay off (pun intended lol). We are focusing our efforts on making principle payments on my car and paying off our credit card plus still having regular deposits into savings and E's college account. I am hoping we will have my car paid off 2-3 years early. Being debt free in a few years is my goal!

*Kyle is home on paternity leave until the 22nd which is really nice, however, we both will be looking forward to getting back into a routine.

*I am FINALLY getting my hair done on the 19th, I had planned to get it cut before E was born but quickly nixed the idea. I am now ready for a new short cut and darker color.

*Today, I'm getting back into my routine of eating in moderation and getting rid of all the junk. I had a serious craving for Dr. Pepper (I have not had soda in 3 years), so all that is leaving the house. I know I just had a baby and need to give myself time but I'm anxious to get the process started.

I hope you all have an awesome Thursday!

  1. I can totally relate to the clean eating. I ate whole30 during my pregnancy with Odette, and after I gave myself a little break to indulge, but I felt so crappy. So I jumped right back into it and felt so much better. It wasn't to lose the baby weight, just to feel good. It sounds like everything is going so great!! So happy for you guys :)

  2. I had the biggest sweet tooth after Savannah was born, but it was because of breast feeding! I luckily got that under control, lol. We don't have any credit card debt, but put a huge amount towards my student loans and Savannah's college fund and we unfortunately have a car payment now- it was so nice not having one! But we will put more money that need be towards the payment each month to get it paid off early like you guys as well. So proud of you for finishing your Master's so soon!

  4. Girl. Have a Dr. Pepper every once in awhile. Moms deserve it! Have you seen Bad Moms? So funny!

  5. We're also focusing on our finances this quarter. We don't have any debt but we don't really have any investments or anything either, and I think we'll need to get on that infernal property ladder fairly soon. So we need to save madly for a deposit. Healthy eating needs to start happening soon, as well! But healthy and cheap...

  14. Your back into the swing of things...slowly. Excited that your close to your grad goal!! I want our credit cards paid off in a few years. Cannot believe I'm old enough to fully retire in 5 years? I don't that old but will provably work anyway for awhile. Enjoy your sweet baby and time with Kyle. God bless you all!

  18. What'd ya take a break for?? Oh wait, I suspect I know. :) Totally more important than blogging time, you have some pretty important things going on over there. :)

LOL on the Dr. Pepper. I haven't had it in years, but my youngest son likes it sometimes.

  20. Paternity leave was the best, especially since we didn't have any family around to help out. I hope you enjoy your last days together!

  21. I'm so glad they increased paternity leave to 15 days! Of course by day 5, I'm always anxious to get into the "no husband home routine" but it's still appreciated.
