(First I want to say to those that have included me in the Christmas Tag, I haven't forgotten to do it lol. They are posts schedule for next week.) :)
Yesterday was our holiday party for Kyle's company. Let me just tell you that it was probably the most fun we have had in a long time. We had Santa, secret Santa gift exchange, crafts for kids, tons of food, drinks, music, dancing and great company. It was fun seeing everyone get dressed up and have a great time.
We had it at a ballroom in town and it was perfect! We were the only ones there and we had the run of the whole place which included a huge dance floor and DJ. We opted to go potluck style and everyone brought amazing food. We had so much leftover it was ridiculous haha.

We have been a part of several units but none like this. The soldiers and families are some of the best people we know and we are thankful to be a part of this group, they are definitely family to us.

Our FRG leader, for reasons unknown to all of us, decided to not have our yearly potluck Christmas part even after another spouse said she would do all the planning work. So not only did we not get a Christmas party this year we also didn't have a ball either. In the five years I have been hear my husband's brigade has yet to have a Christmas ball and with no Christmas party for the company this year I'm really bummed out.

ReplyDeleteHow fun! My husband is currently an XO, so he rarely has time to really bond with others in his organization. He typically works with GOs and, well, they are a little too fancy for us. :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully his next assignment will be different. Being overseas alo generally bonds people more.
