I Feel You

Yesterday I spent the majority of my day at my parents house. My sister and her family live next door so it makes things easier to go back and forth. I got up and went for an early morning run and then decided to help my Dad out by cleaning his house (he works a lot). As I was going through the house I just got this overwhelming feeling that my Mom was there with me.

She and my Dad spent 26 years living in this house together, raised their family here and made memories here. She loved this house and anyone who came into it. I have always felt that she was with me but not as much as I did today. This is the first time in 2 years that I have felt complete peace in this house.

It makes me happy that her essence is still very much here and that I can feel her. I hope this feeling never goes away.

Happy Thursday!

  1. She is watching over you and still loves you even though she is gone. She is still your mother and you are still her daughter. I believe that even though she can't physically be here, she still wants to take care of you. I'm glad that you can feel peace!

  7. I love when you have that feeling! I always know my sister is around but its crazy to suddenly feel like she's experiencing a certain moment with me. Or even when those random memories pop in your head that you haven't thought of in years! Its such a great feeling to know they are still there.

  23. I am glad that you were able to find some peace at your parents' house. I haven't lost a parent, but I can't imagine those feelings of absence get easier. I think it's a small miracle, and I'm so happy you got that feeling and had a good visit with your dad. I hope things continue to get easier with your loss. Gone, but never forgotten.
