Long Weekend At Home

Kyle had another 4 day weekend for the New Years holiday, it was nice to have him home but even nicer that we had no plans to do anything.

We spent the weekend getting stuff done around the house. We took down our Christmas decorations and that led to organizing the garage, it has been a mess since we moved in. Now we can safely maneuver around in there without having a box or tote fall on us haha.

Netflix finally put seasons 13-15 of Law and Order SVU on streaming so I spent a good portion of each night binge watching and it was glorious, well except for the extremely creepy dream I had one night because of it.

I also finally started reading Unbroken, I slacked on reading all of 2014 and I want to change that this year. I love the book so far!

Sunday, we celebrated sweet Emma's 11th birthday. I am sure to some it is weird that we celebrate a dogs birthday but oh well to us she is a member of the family. :)

Today starts our new normal, Kyle will finally get to do his job and training rotations will now be happening monthly and I will barely get to see him (I am thankful that his bosses are letting him attend my brothers AF retirement next week in Florida). Hopefully soon I will get my start date for work too, we will see.

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!!

  2. I absolutely love any time I have "off" with the husband and like it even more if we don't have any official plans! How awesome does it feel to finally have the garage organized? I swear organizing our garage makes me feel like I have a brand new house!! haha!

  3. Glad you had a good weekend. I need to take an organizing jump from you. We've been gone so much since the holidays things are a big of a mess at our home. Hopefully we can get Christmas down, soon.

  6. We celebrate the birthday of our fur baby too. Yeah training, though necessary, really eats into the time we'd love to spend with our families. I console myself with knowing that J will be able to do his job well when he deploys so that the sacrifice we make for our relationship is worth it if it means he can come home alive.

  8. I am dying over that picture! Happy Birthday! And SVU is so addicting, my parents bought my all the seasons on DVD one year in college and I stayed up for two days just watching it. LOL. Ridiculous!

  11. Haha, tearing down Christmas decorations always ends up in extra organizing for us, too. It just gets the ball rolling and then it's hard to stop.

I'm so happy you're reading Unbroken!! SUCH a good book. The first 1/3rd of it was hard to get through just because it felt like it dragged on and on (talking about his running and childhood and everything) but the rest of the book, I could not put it down. Probably the first book in YEARS I've actually cried reading. SO GOOD.

  13. We celebrate our dog's bday too. Our daughter makes us :) Is that a doggy bday hat or just a person one? I'm sure we would need one specifically for dogs if there is such thing! I hope you enjoy Unbroken. It really is a great book. I can't wait to watch the movie.

  14. Oh, Emma looks so sweet in that picture! Jett's 10 month birthday is on my birthday this week, so I fully intend on celebrating with cake for us and pupcakes for them. So I don't blame you one bit...I should get hats...

  15. HAHA! Emma is adorable. Not sure if you've seen it but there is a FB page for a little boy who loves dogs. It's called Photo doggies for Anthony. He would get a kick out of this picture of Emma.

I just finished all 10 seasons of Criminal Minds and I need something else to watch. I think I've seen almost all the SVU but I'll watch the new episodes anyway!!!
