Friday, June 21st, was a very special day of our vacation. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! We started off our day by heading to downtown San Antonio to see The Alamo. What an incredible site to see, so much history happened here and it was amazing to stand where so many brave men died.
After we left the Alamo we headed off to the Riverwalk. It was an amazing place with shops and restaurants. We decided to take a riverboat tour so we could see more in a shorter amount of time. It was amazing! While on the tour we we told about the oldest restaurant called "Casa Rio" so we knew that was where we would have lunch. It was a fun tour and absolutely gorgeous.
After a few hours at the Riverwalk (including a tour through the wax museum) we headed off to the Tower of the America's for dinner. We had dinner at a place called The Chart House, it's a revolving restaurant 620 feet up in the tower. It was AMAZING! The food and view were remarkable. It was the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. After dinner we headed back to the hotel, had some drinks at the bar and relaxed in the spa.
We had an amazing week in San Antonio, we were sad to leave but definitely happy to be home.
Hope you all enjoyed the recaps. Have a great day! :)
That revolving restaurant does sound like the perfect place for an anniversary celebration. I'm glad your big day was an awesome one, and congrats on 5 years!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Our 5th anniversary was on June 21st as well! It was a good day to get married on! :) Glad you had such a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing restaurant for your anniversary dinner! I've always wanted to go to the Alamo, it looks like a very cool place to visit.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip all around!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pictures and recaps. Glad you got to spend your Anniversary in a fun area with so much to do! We love the Riverwalk area...had the best guacamole of our entire lives there once!
ReplyDeleteLove the recaps! Sounds like you had a great vacation. Pictures are beautiful. We went to the Riverwalk about 8 years ago; maybe we'll go back one day. And the kids are dying to go to SeaWorld, so hopefully, we'll do that soon.
ReplyDeleteYou guys seriously packed so many awesome things into your vacation. The Alamo is a place I'd love to see some day, and that restaurant looks ridiculously cool! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! Love the Alamo (did you see the cat?) and the Riverwalk.
ReplyDeleteYou are making me want to plan a SA vacation! We usually try to stick to places with an ocean, but this place seems so fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed SA! It really is a great town with so much to do! And I love, love, love The Chart House... Yum!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteThis day sounds amazing also!! The wax museum and the restaurant seem amazing!! Happy late anniversary!! (:
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteSA is on my list of places to see! I'm so glad you guys had an awesome vacation!
I love San Antonio. As a new Texan, it's one of my favorite spots to visit. It's a quick drive with SO MUCH TO DO. I love Riverwalk.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special trip that I'm sure you'll never, ever forget. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys had such a fantastic vacation!!! That restuarant looks so wonderful!!! Happy Anniversary!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was so surprised by how small the Alamo actually is when I went there. I also went to the wax museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not.
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to the two of you! I'm glad you were able to make it that special! We've been to the Alamo 2 years ago, and it was indeed beautiful. Did you go inside? We didn't, because there was a long line and the kids weren't up to waiting in line. Plus the park was way too nice. The River Walk is up next when we go back to SA hopefully next year!
ReplyDeleteThese areas of San Antonio are my favorite. We went there for a mini-vacay before my husband enlisted, and this is pretty much exactly what we did. We love the history behind the Alamo. Have you seen the John Wayne movie? It's a classic! I'm glad that y'all had a great time and a happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYes I love that movie, it's amazing!! :) Thank you!
DeleteThe Alamo has always been something I have wanted to see. I am so glad you two had an amazing anniversary! xoxo

I would love to go to the Riverwalk. My parents went a few years ago and really liked it. I just have to convince Scott to go to Texas now...
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! We went to the Alamo and Riverwalk over the Christmas holiday. Then when we went back to our B&B at night, we watched The Alamo movie with Billy Bob Thornton! Can't get enough of the Alamo!
