I just have to say that I have the best husband! After working very long hours all week he doesn't say no when I come up with things to do on the weekend.
This weekend started out with a local El Paso Diablos baseball game. It happened to be firework friday, so after the game there was a gorgeous 20 minute firework show. They even had a chicken race (a kid racing a guy in a chicken suit haha), a sumo wrestling match and a coach/umpire fight. We had a blast!
We woke up Saturday morning at 6am, packed a picnic lunch and headed off to Carlsbad Caverns in NM. It was a 2 1/2 hour gorgeous drive! We had no idea how amazing these caverns were. We did the self guided tour first and it took us about 2 hours. We were able to go through the natural entrance and walk 1.2 miles to the bottom of the cavern. After that tour we found a picnic table outside and had lunch. It was a beautiful day. We then did the 2 hour guided tour into an area that is mostly off limits. I was able to take pictures even though this is still an active cave. Formations are still growing daily.
We headed home at 3:30 and ended the night with pizza and watching the live feed of my Dad racing.
Yesterday, we decided instead of going to the cultural center (we are doing that next weekend now) that we wanted to just relax. We did some grocery shopping and went on a run. It was a great way to end the weekend.
I hope you all have an amazing weekend. Have a great Monday!
I had a fantastic weekend - both productive and relaxing! :)
