I am 15 days soda free! I already work out 6 days a week, but cutting out soda has made me feel even better! I don't even miss it like I thought I would. It has been a really easy transition, let's hope it stays that way.
Are you a soda drinker? Have you ever tried to stop drinking it?
Happy Wednesday!!
I am a Coca-Cola drinker and I have no plans on stopping or cutting back. However I did cut back a lot when I was pregnant but now that Im not Im back to my normal ways :) I should drink more water but after that first cup of coffee in the morning, Im ready for a Coke.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I need to hop on this train! I am a Diet Coke lover and actually gave it up for awhile a few years ago. I have been soda free this week already so maybe I should keep it up! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Keep it up :) I'm not much of an addict when it comes to that. I do love an occasional coke or diet dew, though. I try not to indulge but once every three months or so.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE diet soda. I haven't had any for almost 4 months. It's been difficult. I try and substitute it with seltzer when I need the carbonation. Good for you. I know its a tough one.
ReplyDeletecongratulations! i started a 30-day challenge this week--working out 30+ minutes a day 5x/wk and no junk. feeling good, but it's amazing how much people have tried to make me eat junk food when i tell them, haha.
ReplyDeleteI used to never drink much pop, and then I discovered that I like diet...it's all downhill from there. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'm not much of a soda drinker. I do drink root beer every once in a while, mostly when we go out to eat (which isn't often). We hardly ever have it in the house.
ReplyDeleteWell done! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteSoda is definitely bad for you. I stop drinking it for awhile and then all of a sudden I pick the habit back up. And I feel worse after drinking soda...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!!!
Yay! I have been working on cutting down on soda for a while. I never have it in the house anymore, and try to focus on drinking water at restaurants. I allow myself to cheat once a month and have one full calorie coke. If I start to drink diet I will just finish the whole darn thing.
ReplyDelete15 days, that is awesome, keep it up! :) I always have a hard time cutting back or quitting soda. Lately, I've been doing AdvoCare and have been drinking so much more water and have been soda-free for 10 days. Wish me luck! :)
ReplyDeleteI gave up soda a while back too! I still miss it every once in a while but I know I feel better without it!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!! I don't drink much pop either anymore and I don't really miss it either! :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jen! I used to drink a 24 pack of soda in a week. I was addicted and didn't want to stop because I thought I couldn't. Not anymore! It's been 2 months since I've had soda and I don't miss it. I sleep better now and feel better :-) Quitting soda was the best decision for me. I'm happy that you've been able to stop!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink it much but on occasion I crave a Pepsi or Dr Pepper. I figure one every couple weeks won't kill me too much.

I never used to drink it at all, but I've started in the last couple of years, and every once in awhile I even crave it. o_O
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being 15-days free of soda. :)
I am so proud of you for giving up the soda! It really is terrible for you. Fortunately, I never grew up with soda in my house. When I was a teenager I had one occasionally when I was out with friends, but soda always made me pee too much so I avoided it. Now I drink maybe one a year and that is it!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Giving up soda was hard for me, and I still crave it! Glad it has been an easy transition for you. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had Mt Dew in over 2 years. It was my drug of choice you could say. I drink Diet Coke from time to time but it helps that I don't keep soda in the house at all and we don't eat out all that often.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Go Jen!!!! I'm was an addict, like 4 cans a day, but I gave it up when I noticed how much damage it was doing. If we're in a restaurant I'll usually go for a sweet tea, and SOMETIMES I'll get a Coke at a drive through, but I feel like those aren't so bad since they mostly taste like water. At least that's my excuse.
ReplyDeleteWhoop, whoop! You go, girl! I have had a FEW since the beginning of the year. For the first few months, I didn't drink a single one! I am glad I don't drink them like I used to though!! I feel a lot better!
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper, keep saying I need to cut back but it has not happened yet!
ReplyDeleteI rarely drink soda anymore as well. I remember when I first decided to stop drinking it, I dropped about 5 lbs. right off the bat! Maybe I need to try that with desserts now... :p
ReplyDeleteCongrats girl! I stopped drinking soda forever until I got pregnant. Then it became a craving and now I'm back to the nasty habbit, agh.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was going to be much harder to stop but I was really surprised at how easy it was for me.
DeleteI'm not much of a soda drinker while I'm at school. I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, so if I do drink soda it's usually Sprite.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm impressed. I'm trying to cut down to 1 diet coke a day. I can't even imagine going soda free!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a big soda drinker. He's cut back a bit, but still drinks more than he should.
I honestly can't have much soda without it hurting my stomach. I've been drinking mainly water for a couple years now.
Awesome! I like a Coke Zero every once in a while bit I'm not an addict thankfully.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you've gone over 2 weeks w/o soda! You'll feel so much better the longer you don't drink it. I RARELY drink soda (and when I do, it's Zevia) but even just a half a can of soda makes me feel dehydrated. I always have to wash it down with a glass of water!
ReplyDeleteGo you!! I stopped drinking soda pretty much completely about a year ago and now I experience A LOT less headaches!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Ashleigh!! Good job to you too!
DeleteGood for you!!! Of course you feel better, nobody needs that junk in their body. I gave up soda nearly 7 years ago and sooooo glad I did!

I hadn't had a Coke Zero since February... then we needed to get rid of the Crown in the liquor cabinet, so I took one for the team and mixed some Coke with it. Haven't really craved it since, but those drinks I had were delicious! ;) Congrats on two weeks!
ReplyDeleteI drank soda a lot as a kid. We just always had it in the house. Once I moved away for school and had to pay for things myself, that stopped. I was too cheap and always opted for water instead! Haha! The habit mostly stuck. I'll occasionally have a soda (I loved the orange Fanta they have in Germany) but I can go weeks without soda and not think a thing of it. Good for you for kicking the habit!
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm surprised at how easy it has been. I love how I feel! :)
DeleteI cut it out all the time. Then treat myself if we go out to dinner or a BBQ, or a friend's house, then a couple of weeks later I have to cut it out again! It's a vicious cycle. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI would drink 3-4 cans of Mountain Dew a day...I know horrible. But now I have been pop free for three days. I know not very long but it's a new change for me and a hard one but I know it needs to be done!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome!!!! :) Keep it up! :)
DeleteWay to go! It's SO good for you to be off, keep it up!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm slightly addicted to Dr. Pepper. I try to give up soda and always go back to it.
ReplyDeleteI try to keep soda out of the house and only get it when out to eat. It's hard to be at the movies or eating pizza and not have soda, though I've picked water a few times over soda. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Keep up the soda free habits! :o) And keep on working out - best energizer there is
ReplyDeleteI don't drink soda much. I have thought about just going cold turkey once my Pepsi runs out. I drink caffienated iced tea, that I make, at work. Better for my teeth and weight if I don't drink soda as well. I'll try it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a soda drinker. But I definitely need to try and drink more water...did you feel a sugar crash? Because that's what worries me.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a 2-3 can-a-day drinker. I still have a coke a couple days a week, because some meals just call for it. :) and also you can't drink the water in restaurants down here ;) but yeah, mostly water now if I'm at home.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I'm not a soda drinker normally, but the pregnancy I've been having one can of ginger ale a day to help with the belly sickies.
ReplyDeleteHey there! Dropping in by way of the Walk About link up! PS- Grayson is SUCH a cute name and baby!! (cute doesn't even describe that picture)
ReplyDeleteMy fiance has a major addiction to Mt. Dew-- he will drink a 12pk in one night and lord only knows how many he gets while he is at work so I have changed him over to only drinking caffeine free tea at home and it seems to work well-- now I just have to convince him that beer has carbonation it it! Cute blog doll!

OH! and I forgot to mention!! Please thank your husband for his service and for protecting my freedom and more importantly, give yourself a pat on the back because a military wife needs one more than most know it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! :) When I have a soda craving I usually just grab a flavored seltzer!
ReplyDeleteNot a big soda fan here. I drink coke during D&D games sometimes, but that's about it. Try to stay away from diet soda alltogether.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge diet coke drinker that just love diet soda. I try and cut back on it, but I like it too much! Well done on cutting it out! :) In Norway we have really nice diet cordials too, I love them when I am back! :)
ReplyDeleteI live for soda. Diet coke is my biggest addiction, but McDonald's fountain coke is like crack to me. I've quit a couple times, but I always come crawling back ;-) Good for you for making it so long!
ReplyDeleteWooo hooo!! Good job! It is amazing how diet changes can make us feel better! xo
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Good for you! I love a good ol' fountain Coke every once in a while! :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I've cut my soda down significantly, but I can't kick Coke altogether. I have to have a can every once in awhile.
ReplyDeleteGood news! Keep it up. I don't wag my finger too often but I have pretty strong convictions about how bad soda is for the body. My husband has struggled to quit. It's almost like nicotine where you can easily get sucked back into the habit. Wishing you lots of willpower to stay away ;)
