judgement is an ugly thing

Before I start this let me give you a little background about me.  When I was 21 I got married for the first time. I had been with him for almost 3 years and we married in September 2006. A little over a year later I kicked him out and filed for divorce due to various reasons. I would never wish divorce on anyone because it sucks to go through. I was lucky because I came out better because of it.  Kyle and I started dating in April 2008 and married in June 2008. We have a very good marriage and are extremely happy. He is the polar opposite of my ex-husband.

Now this is where the judgement comes into play. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten weird looks or comments when people find out that I was married before. I am so sick and tired of people thinking that I'm going to hell because I have been divorced. Yes I believe marriage should be forever but sometimes the cards just don't play out right and you can marry the wrong person. I was actually told recently by a person that they couldn't be friends with me because I was a sinner for being divorced. Really?! Who says that? I never did respond to it.

It is amazing that I get judged for a mistake that I made in my past, apparently looking at who I am as a person is not enough. Kyle has even been asked if he is worried that I will divorce him too. I'm just blown away at the level of ugliness that people show. Bottom line is you have no idea what a person has been through in their past so don't judge them for the decisions they make. Life is too short to let things like this bring me down so I'm choosing to be the better person and just move on.

Thanks for letting me vent because I really needed to get this off my chest. I feel much better now. :)

These made me laugh and were both very fitting for this post. Haha.

I'm meeting up with a friend today for a doggy playdate which I think will be good. Thank goodness for gorgeous weather!

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Wordless Wednesday

Per Kyle's request I made him his favorite ice cream yesterday:

Mint Chocolate Chip

OMG! Amazing!

Also, I am overly excited to go here in a few weeks:

Splash Mountain and The Haunted Mansion are calling my name haha.

Happy Wednesday!

A Good Day

Yesterday I had my 2nd opinion appointment at the hospital on post. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The Dr. I was met with was so incredibly nice and listened to everything I had to say. Since Fort Bliss does not have an actual infertility clinic it makes anything beyond clomid incredibly difficult to do. For the next 3 months I will be charting my temperature and taking daily ovulation tests to see if that helps me get pregnant. If we end up having to go the IVF direction I will be referred to an Army hospital that does IVF (there are only 6), the closest is at Fort Sam Houston. Beyond IVF would be the discussion of surrogacy and adoption. My sister has graciously offered to be a surrogate for us if we need her, such an awesome sister! That is the plan right now and I walked out of there happy with the plan and not wanting to cry. I'd call that a success.

The whole day yesterday was pretty good after the appointment I drove to Las Cruces to pick up our Jason Aldean tickets, woo hoo! It was a nice hour drive by myself, I should do that more often. I also got the title to my car in the mail. I can't believe it's paid off and 100% ours.

I have plans to go to the gym today and then off to Macy's to find a dress for Kyle's Change of Command...we have 2 months but I'm a planner. I did find a really cute Ralph Lauren dress but it was $134, ouch. Praying it goes on sale if I don't find anything else I like.

I hope you all have a great day!

Oh Monday....please go away.

I honestly think that weekends go by WAY too fast. It is nice to have quality time with Kyle after barely seeing him all week.

Friday night we had dinner with friends of ours Erwin, Nicole and their little boy, Nate. It seems that this is becoming a regular Friday night thing which we are totally okay with. We went to a restaurant called Crave, it was really good. Apparently they have good breakfast and lunch as well.

I wanted to go outside and climb the letters haha they were awesome.

Saturday we ran a few errands, got the new blind hung up and replaced the light bulbs in the house. We grilled steaks before heading off to Monster Jam. We had a BLAST! We had great seats and I got some pretty awesome pictures:

This is the first time we went to the Sun Bowl Stadium, it was really cool because it's built into the side of the mountain. Can't wait to go back there for a UTEP football game in the fall. Kyle did tell me that he appreciates the fact that I'm the perfect mix of a tomboy and girly girl. :) I thought that was an awesome compliment.

Yesterday we had lunch out, I cleaned the house and then spent the rest of the day relaxing. Overall is was a pretty awesome weekend. I'm already planning next weekends fun haha. :)

Happy Monday!

privacy is a wonderful thing.

I am so happy that we got a few items check off our home improvement list yesterday. The biggest one was getting the blind for our front door installed. Kyle did a great job and it looks awesome. Now you can't see through our front door haha:

If any of you need custom blinds done, order from blindster.com they were amazing to work with.

We also got the light bulbs replaced and thanks to Target and their 5% off we didn't have to pay an arm and a leg.

I am headed to the gym in a little and then relaxing the rest of the day. I hope you all have a great Sunday!

PS: Thank you all for your sweet words yesterday, it really meant a lot. :) I had my Mom with me so it was a good day.

It's March

A few years ago March was just another month but the last 2 years it has had a new meaning. March 31st is the anniversary of my Mom's passing. I can't believe we are coming up on 2 years since I heard her sweet voice. The worst part is that it happens to fall on Easter this year.

I can already tell that I'm sliding into somewhat of a funk. So I apologize in advance if I don't seem like my normal happy self but I will certainly do my best to not be too depressing. I am thankful that I get to spend some time with my family this month, we have plans to take flowers down to her tree and just celebrate her. The entire month of March I will wear her engagement ring as a tribute. I miss her so very much.

Home Improvement Checklist

We are finally getting a few last things done around the house. We didn't want to pay for everything to get done after we moved in because we thought that would be overwhelming. The first thing on our list was to find a blind for our front door and the window above the door:

Let me just tell you that no store carries an 81" blind. We had to have it custom made and thanks to a coupon code online we got it for less than $90. Now we just have to find a blind for the window above the door. Hopefully we will be successful this weekend.

Next on our list is replacing all of the light bulbs. We are changing them all to the energy efficient, this could get pricy because we have somewhere around 50 light bulbs in the house haha. I know it needs to be done so maybe we can use the Sears giftcard we have to check that off the list.

I am also still searching for curtains for our bathroom. There is a huge frosted glass picture window and a smaller one. I have searched high and low for curtains but I guess I'm too picky for my own good lol. It's not a huge priority since no one goes in there except us.

Since we are getting close to spring I want to plant a garden in the backyard, I want to have some fresh vegetables and herbs. Hopefully this is a project we can get started in the next few weeks or so. Praying I can actually grow something since I am notorious for killing plants. :) I would love something like this:

Since we get such high winds here we noticed last weekend that we were getting a bit of a whistling noise from the bottom of the front and back doors. We found them at Bed Bath and Beyond, so for $14.99 we don't have that whistling noise anymore haha. I had always seen those draft guards on TV but never thought they would actually work:

They are AWESOME! The whistling noise is gone and the tile near the door is not as freezing. I highly recommend them.

Well, I hope you all are enjoying your Friday! :) Have a great weekend!
