Our "Kids"

Kyle and I don't have children of the human kind yet but we have 2 of the sweetest "kids" anyone could hope for.

This is Emma. Our 8 1/2 year old miniature dachshund. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old and she is our baby girl! As you can see in this picture she sure does know how to relax on Labor Day.

This is Fishy (yes Fishy, if you are curious as to how he got his name go to youtube and search for sesame street bert and ernie go fishing. When Kyle did the call the cat came running lol), he is our 5 year old Tabby and I have had him since he was 5 weeks old when I found him.

We would do anything for these two and love them very much.

Aren't they cute?! :)

Hope you all are having a great weekend!!!

Come On, Army!!!

A few posts back I mentioned that Kyle had a potential opportunity to go work with an old boss of his at Fort Bliss (COL is taking a brigade command). Knowing this information, Kyle sent a courtesy email to his branch manager letting her know that COL would be contacting her. Well Kyle got an email today from her and basically told him that she is not sending him back to a brigade or lower level job.

She wants to send him to a corp level position, a command or INSCOM (they have units at Fort Gordon, Germany, Fort Meade, and Schofield Barracks). None of these are horrible opportunities it's just a little disheartening that she won't even entertain the idea of this job offer. Now that we know this he is really going to start pushing to get a command, he wants that more than anything.

She is supposed to be coming here in a week or so to do interviews and then start placing people. We should know sometime close to the end of September where we will be calling home for the next 3 years.

Bottom line is, I want Kyle to enjoy his job and be happy. We will see what happens. Stay tuned my friends!

Infertility Journey

Since we moved to Arizona we agreed to put the infertility treatments on hold. I am starting to get anxious to get things going again. Once we find out where we are going next I will start researching doctors and reach out to them. I probably know of at least 20 different people that are expecting and I am ready to be one of them. After 4 miscarriages it gets very draining and wrecks me emotionally. I am normally very good about keeping my emotions in check but I do have my moments, which I am sure is normal.

I try to be very open, honest and candid about our situation. I know people get cautious around us and I completely understand but I don't want to be. I am an open book with this journey. It has made us who we are and it has made our relationship so much stronger.

Right now I am waiting for the "Evil P" to make her appearance, she hasn't shown up since the end of July. Before you say anything lol, yes I have tested and have gotten nothing but negative results. I keep trying to tell myself that maybe it's too early but who knows. I have a feeling that if I don't get a positive test or the "Evil P" I will be making an appointment to see a doctor to just make sure everything is ok.

We have also talked about that if we can't have children naturally that we will definitely pursue adoption. I know there are plenty of children out there that need families to love and nurture them. There is also the option of surrogacy, we have not ruled that out as a possibility. We are ready for a sweet baby to take up all of our time.

We have had the support of our amazing families and friends throughout our struggles and it means the world to us. I also have friends who struggle with the same thing we do and I pray for them everyday and wish for them what I wish for us.

I know that one way or another we will be parents and we will be damn amazing parents!

Thank you for letting me ramble, I just needed to get this off my chest.

Happy Girl!

When Kyle and I lived in NC we had an opportunity to go to an NFL game, unfortunately we had a prior engagement and couldn't go. I told him when we moved here that we were definitely going to one!

Last night I bought tickets for us to attend our first NFL game on September 23rd!! I am sooo excited!! We get to see these 2 teams play:

Arizona Cardinals

                                                                  Philadelphia Eagles

Until then our weekends are packed with visitors. This weekend Kyle's parents are coming and the following weekend my Dad will be here. Then 2 1/2 weeks after that I will be on a plane to Vegas to see my family! Yay!

I hope you all are enjoying your day!

Tattoos

I often get funny looks from people when I tell them that I have tattoos. Unless I am wearing a swimsuit or something that shows my back you would have no clue that I have them. I am not one to get a tattoo just because, all 6 of mine have special meaning.

Let's have a little show and tell. LOL!

This was my first tattoo...I had went skydiving with my sister that morning and at the last minute we decided to go get my first tattoo done. I was very involved with my church at the time and I thought this tattoo was very fitting.

My second one I got done after my divorce was final, it was my gift to myself after putting up with a lot  of bad stuff.

This is the chinese symbol for Faith...I had Faith in myself to walk away from a bad situation and not look back

Chinese symbol for Strength. I had the strength to walk away from the bad situation and stand up for what I knew wasn't right.

When my Mom was diagnosed with cancer my sister and I wanted to do something special. The ribbon is the pancreatic cancer ribbon and the monarch butterfly is very special because my sister saw this the morning my Mom was diagnosed. She said she still sees one flying around outside every now and then.

I got this tattoo done when Kyle was deployed. I wanted to do something to honor him and show my never ending support and love.

I am working on ideas for tattoo #7, can't wait to see it finally get done!!

What about you all? Any tattoos?

OPI Obsession

Now that we are coming up on amazing fall weather I knew I had to add some amazing OPI colors to my nail polish collection.

OPI recently came out with their German Collection, AMAZING!!! If you haven't seen this collection check it out, so many perfect colors for fall. On our last trip to Tucson I went to Ulta to purchase a few colors and this is what I got:

deutsche you want me baby

German-Icure by OPI

Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue

and then I picked up this beauty:

Espresso Your Style

I painted my nails with this color last night and here is what it looks like:

This is probably one of my favorite colors and it will be a staple for fall!!

Here is what the Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue looks like:

LOVE!!! Even my husband loves it haha.

A few weeks ago I had to pick up this entire set, well because it's awesome!

Oh yes!!! OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse collection.

I have to limit how many I buy at once because at 8.50 a bottle it can add it really quickly. Thanks to Amazon I have a cart full of older colors for pretty inexpensive.

I hope you all are having an amazing Labor Day!!!

The Grand Canyon

Kyle and I got back from our trip to the Grand Canyon about an hour ago. We had an AMAZING time. We drove up yesterday morning, stayed in Williams and spent today at the canyon. We had our dog, Emma, set up to be boarded but at the last minute decided that she was going with us. Thankfully I had booked a pet friendly hotel.

We got up bright and early this morning and headed off to the Grand Canyon. All I can say is WOW!!!  I was in awe of how amazingly beautiful it was. It was so peaceful and calming. We walked almost 6 miles along the South Rim and Emma did great, we thought with her tiny legs that she would have fallen out early but nope (minus a 20 minute stint in my backpack, you will see what I'm talking about when you see the picture).

I am glad that we were able to go, I know that if we didn't that would be the one thing that I would regret the most. Here are a few pictures from the day:

Amazing right?!

Mathor Point

Us!

Colorado River

You can see the trail that you take on the donkey tour

I love him!!!

Nothing like seeing the American Flag flying high.

See!!!! She was a happy little camper in the backpack, after this she was ready to go and walked the remaining 3 miles. :)

I had to post these 2 pictures. This is Bedrock, you can actually camp here and they have a tour through the town. Haha it's hilarious!

These are the houses in Bedrock.

I figured I would only post a handful of pictures, don't want to overload everyone. We will spend the rest of the weekend relaxing, watching movies and enjoying our time together.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!!
